Who’s Headlining? What’s Special?
Spring may feel a ways off, but the Women’s FEST Committee of CAMP Rehoboth has been working since this past summer to get ready for the FEST next April. There will be some BIG positive changes and some brand new events.
The Women’s FEST event will be April 7-10, and with the closing of the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, our major venue will be the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center located at the Boardwalk and Baltimore Avenue. Our presenting sponsor will once again be Olivia Travel, including a visit to our FEST in Rehoboth by Olivia founder Judy Dlugacz, for a very special event.
We’re still working out the fine details, but we can tell you that our headliner will be Indigo Girl Emily Saliers, in an awesome acoustic show. Since our venue is smaller, we will host Emily for two nights. There will also be a brand new show from comic Poppy Champlin, a session with international leadership and diversity guru Laura Liswood, an amazing film called Letter to Anita (Bryant) with a presentation by its producer Andrea Myerson, plus music and laughs from The Girlfriends, Fay Jacobs, and many more.
The Friday night Emily Saliers show will be sponsored by Jenn Harpel of Morgan Stanley, while the Saturday night Emily show is presented by Lana Warfield of Berkshire Hathaway/ Gallo Realtors. Viki Dee will be back to perform at the always-popular Thursday night opening party, sponsored this year by Dogfish Head Brewing Co. Friday events include a rally, music by DJ Nan, and a singles mixer at Lula Brazil.
As for big changes, the FEST will offer an 18-hole golf outing this year, and the Ladies 2000 Tea Dance will have a new venue: the room with an awesome view atop the Henlopen Hotel. There will be sports and new workshops and special events. We’ll give you the details once the final schedule is complete, and more news will be reported as we get the schedule worked out.
The CAMP Rehoboth Women’s FEST will continue its Sunday tradition of Broadwalk on the Boardwalk to fight cancer. There will be author signings, sports, an art show and reception, arts and crafts Expo, music, comedy, and more!.
So save the dates, April 7-10, 2016. Updates to follow!
