A Harvest of Goodwill
CAMP Rehoboth Outreach Program had a stellar group of volunteers assist with the AIDS Walk on September 26. Our biggest concern was whether the storm would hit before the walk was completed, and although it was windy, Mother Nature cooperated by holding off the rain off until the afternoon. Eleven volunteers assisted Glen Pruitt and his team with registration, food, AIDS Walk tattoos, AIDS quilt duty, flower distribution and various other jobs that needed to be done. Everyone left the event feeling happy about his or her interaction with the walkers and working for a worthwhile cause.
Community Art Murals are planned for Burton Village. On September 30, Artist Catherine Czerwinski and CROP volunteers Carol and Valerie had a fun session with the kids gathering input on what they’d like to see in the murals.
Would you like to reap the harvest of goodwill? Then consider signing up for CROP’s next project!
This is the time when the Food Bank of Delaware needs us! They are working to fill 2,500 Thanksgiving boxes for families in need. CROP will return to the Food Bank on November 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm to assist them with the preparations.
We are also collecting food items in the CAMP Rehoboth office: canned veggies, pumpkin and cranberry sauce, evaporated milk, juice, corn muffin mix, mashed potatoes, and gravy. We will collect until November 10, so the CROP volunteers can deliver the items to the Food Bank on the 11th.
