My support goes to Kathy McGuiness for Lt. Governor.
I am thrilled to be able to endorse Kathy McGuiness for Lt. Governor of Delaware.
I have worked with Kathy for over two decades. I first worked with her years ago when she was founding President of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, and then later when she served as a Rehoboth Beach Commissioner, as well as on numerous political campaigns and in her board position with CAMP Rehoboth.
It is why I can say with confidence that I have never worked alongside a harder working elected official or a more energetic and effective advocate than Kathy. When she wants something, she will not stop working until she gets it done. Whether it is helping to revitalize downtown Rehoboth, growing the local economy through increased tourism or improving quality of life for the people of Rehoboth Beach.
From her selection, at the turn of the millennium, as Delaware’s Tourism Person of the Year, to her creation and nurturing of the RBMS program, her accomplishments with the City of Rehoboth, and her amazing ability to bring people together, Kathy gets things accomplished.
As an ally for the LGBT community, she is the only one in this Lt. Governor’s race who will not only fully support LGBT rights, protections and safety but she will fight for them—both legislatively and by being in the trenches, raising her voice and celebrating the diversity that makes Delaware excel.
She will represent the entire state of Delaware with the same fervor she has shown in Sussex County, fighting for sensible legislation, educational opportunities, and a thriving economy. Kathy gets things done. Let’s put her to work for all of us!
Fay Jacobs, Rehoboth Beach
It is hard for me to put into words how very concerned I am regarding the proposed development of the Baymart commercial site. This seven acre plus site within the boundaries of Rehoboth Beach is significant and was particularly mentioned in the CDP. I personally have never seen a more poorly planned development from the standpoint of convenience or public safety. It is an example of a modern slum.
Please contact the Planning Commission either by a written statement or in person on August 12 at the public hearing to voice your concern. Rehoboth Beach is not just a resort city. It is a flourishing year round community that welcomes visitors.
Sincerely, Mable Granke
Thank you for supporting the DC Pride Volleyball League’s (DCPVL) second annual Rehoboth Beach Open (RBO) volleyball tournament. We appreciate your assistance in promoting the tournament through your website and CAMP Rehoboth’s Letters publications.
The tournament continues to be a great success with 20 teams from Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Rehoboth Beach competing. Due to the positive feedback, and encouragement from players and Rehoboth businesses last year, we invested over $2,500 in six volleyball net and court systems, and are committed to hosting this tournament annually.
As DCPVL shares CAMP Rehoboth’s values and mission of supporting the LGBT community, and strengthening its relationship with the greater community, we want to support your efforts with a donation of $500.00. Although our contribution is modest, we unexpectedly incurred a substantial City of Rehoboth Extra Duty Police fee. We are excited to host next year’s Rehoboth Beach Open on June 17, 2017, and we hope to partner with you again.
Timothy J. Daniels, Commissioner
