Lewes Historical Society’s 2016 Summer Craft Fair
July in Lewes means the Summer Craft Fair brought to you by The Lewes Historical Society. The Summer Craft Fair is on Saturday, July 9, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, 43 Cape Henlopen Drive in Lewes, Delaware. Admission will be $5 per person, children under 12 are free. Proceeds from this event will benefit educational and preservation programs at The Lewes Historical Society.
With its wealth of historical sites, museums, unique shops, restaurants, and pristine beaches, Lewes is an exciting destination for craft buyers and visitors alike. The Lewes Summer Craft Fair is well known for the exceptional quality of the craftspeople, including new and returning artists from across Delmarva and the Eastern Shore. This year, there will be over 60 talented artisans exhibiting a variety of media ranging from metalwork to woodworking. Indulge in delicious food and cool treats. Visit the family craft corner between 11 am.-3 p.m. for interactive, and hands-on activities for all ages. Old and New Bluegrass Band will perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Highlighted as the 2016 Summer Craft Fair Featured Artist is Anna Beebe Moore. Anna Beebe Moore was born in Lewes to Dr. and Mrs. Richard C. Beebe. Anna graduated from The Philadelphia Collage of Art, Science and Industry now known as Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She has a four year degree, majoring in Fine Arts with a minor in Fashion Illustration. She is the mother of four with 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has always had a passion for art, working with watercolors, oils, ink sketches, and most recently with porcelain painting. She has studied under many local artists including: Laura Cole, Howard Schroeder, Jack Lewis, John Gardowski, and Pam Bounds. She also studied under Judy Smith in Dover for porcelain painting.
