Sponsors and Hosts Being Sought for Sundance 2016 at the Rehoboth Mall
Area individuals, businesses, and organizations are being invited to support one of the most widely anticipated and publicized events in the area, Sundance, which benefits CAMP Rehoboth. The two-day Labor Day weekend event raises much-needed funds for CAMP Rehoboth, an organization that operates a full-service community center; offers a variety of activities, cultural events, service projects, and educational programs; and advocates for a community of inclusion in Rehoboth Beach. Sponsorship levels start as low as $100, giving individuals an affordable way to show their support. A variety of options are available to businesses and higher-level supporters. Sponsors gain tremendous visibility and recognition for their support, and this year, the event is being held in an innovative new space: the Rehoboth Mall atrium and concourse, which will allow for creative staging and plenty of parking.
Sundance 2016: Rainbow XXIX: Sol Groove will be held September 3-4. “There’s something magical about Sundance that goes way beyond colorful fabrics and mirror balls,” says Glen Pruitt, Sundance Team Captain and one of the event sponsors. “For me, Sundance is a moment each year in which many different segments of our community come together. We leave behind our labels and our divisions, and we work together for something bigger than ourselves. That doesn’t happen often enough in our lives. I want to be a part of that. Who wouldn’t?”
Sundance attracts nearly 1,000 participants and is heavily promoted during the height of the tourist season. Sponsors’ names appear in this magazine, and they are listed on the CAMP Rehoboth website. Posters listing the names of every sponsor are distributed to stores and businesses and are displayed throughout the area during the busy summer season. Support levels range from $100 to $5,000; each level brings an escalating assortment of benefits.
Sponsors at all levels receive a listing on the invitation poster (more than 3,000 are distributed and it is displayed in more than 100 establishments). At the $100 Host level, additional benefits include one ticket to both nights of the event ($80 value), listing on the invitation and the promotional materials, and a Sundance 2016 T-shirt. The $300 individual or business Gold Host level includes all of those benefits, plus premier placement on posters and ads. Sponsor ($1,000 minimum) and Supporter ($500 minimum) levels provide the most dramatic exposure and include tickets, T-shirts, and admission to the private Sundance Lounge at the dance. The Sponsor level includes logo placement on all materials.
Sundance 2016 will be held over two nights: Saturday, September 3, 7-10 p.m., is the silent and live auction (with auctioneer Lorne Crawford), which features a cocktail buffet and an open bar all night. The silent auction includes hundreds of vacation packages, dining opportunities, pieces of fine art, gift items, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Sunday, September 4, is the dance party from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. featuring DJ/Remixer Joe Gauthreaux and an open bar. Participants can attend either or both nights of the event (tickets are $45 for one night, $80 for both).
Although Sundance is always an extravaganza, this year’s event promises to be the most spectacular yet. Sundance has traditionally been held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, but with that facility closed for renovation, the event planners looked for a dynamic new space and came up with the idea of transforming the interior of the Rehoboth Mall. The nearly empty shopping space will provide a blank slate of opportunities for the decorating team, while offering something unheard-of in downtown Rehoboth: plenty of free parking.
With this year’s Sundance set to be the most exciting event yet, individuals and businesses are encouraged to become a Sundance 2016 Sponsor, Supporter, or Host, and help make it possible for CAMP Rehoboth to continue to provide its programs and services to the community.
All proceeds from the event benefit CAMP Rehoboth (a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation) and support the activities and programs it provides to the Rehoboth community.
