Mitch Sames
Robert “Mitch” Mitchell Sames, age 64, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born Monday, September 17, 1951 in Hartford, CT, to Robert and Lucille Sames.
Mitch was a retired U.S. Government employee in Washington, DC with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, which protects the retirement benefits of American workers and retirees. He and his spouse Greg opened their first pet grooming business, Animal House, in Washington, DC, and then later in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Mitch and Greg then opened Wizard of Paws in Rehoboth Beach, which is still in operation and continue to own and operate Wizard of Paws II in Millsboro, DE.
In his earlier years, Mitch enjoyed snow skiing. He loved the beach, going boating and traveling. Everyone in Rehoboth Beach knew and loved Mitch. He was a loving husband, step father, brother, uncle and friend, and will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sames was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Sames. He is survived by his loving husband, Gregory D. Kellas; his step son, Ryan Kellas and his wife, Katie, of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his step daughter, Lauren Harada, of Chesterfield, VA; his brother, Richard Sames and his wife, Sherry, of Boyton, VA; his sister, Nancy Sames Blough, of Warrenton, VA; his sister-in-law, Margaret Gluck, of Plattsburgh, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services to be held at a later date at All Saints Episcopal Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
