July 31, 2020 - Sundance 2020

JOIN US FOR SUNDANCE!

Hosts, Supporters, and Sponsors have been the heart and soul of Sundance from the start. Sign up at camprehoboth.com!

BEGINS AUGUST 29 AT 6 PM ENDS ON SEPTEMBER 5

Sundance to Nurture Community

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many events to be cancelled or scaled down, but CAMP Rehoboth has chosen another direction—it’s expanding its annual Labor Day Sundance event into a week-long, virtual United in Love celebration. The event will include a community outreach component as a part of its annual fundraiser, beginning August 29 at 6 p.m. and ending on September 5.

“This has been a challenging year for LGBTQ people, for people of color, and for those disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus. It seems only right to acknowledge that and do what we can to make a small contribution to the local organizations we work with on these issues,” says David Mariner, CAMP Rehoboth’s Executive Director. “PFLAG continues to support our LGBTQ youth and families; the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice is leading the local #BlackLivesMatter movement, and Immanuel Shelter kept their winter shelter open an additional two months to support homeless folks during the coronavirus isolation period.”

“We felt strongly that the roots of community engagement that initiated the first Sundance needed to carry through this year,” adds Murray Archibald, Sundance Chair and CAMP Rehoboth’s co-founder. “We will share more about our community outreach as the summer progresses, but we hope to have the organizations participate in both the program and the auction.”

Members of the community can support Sundance in several ways. By pledging as a host ($100 for individual or business), the donor will be listed on the event poster and receive a Sundance 2020 t-shirt. At the supporter level ($500, $750), the donor receives three t-shirts and a listing on the website as well as the poster. A gold level that offers special recognition is available for both host and supporter donors. Sponsors ($1000+, $2,500+, $5,000+) are additionally listed on advertising, publicity, and event banners, and receive other recognition throughout the event and online. Interested donors are encouraged to contact Murray Archibald at 302-236-2931 to discuss the options available. ▼

Hosts, Supporters, and Sponsors Make the Party—and Much of the Following Year—Happen

Each year CAMP Rehoboth clears over $100,000 from the Sundance auction and dance. These funds are a vital part of CAMP Rehoboth’s annual operating budget. Since CAMP Rehoboth has not been able to do other fundraisers this year, Sundance dollars are more important than ever. With your help as a Sundance host, supporter, or sponsor, we can raise that much again, even with a virtual format. Sign up at camprehoboth.com. Already, 125+ individuals have pledged to support Sundance XXXIII: United in Love. That’s over one quarter to the goal and it’s only been only three weeks since news of virtual Sundance was announced. Hosts, supporters and sponsors have been the heart and soul of Sundance from the start. In 1988, a dozen hosts underwrote the costs of a pool/anniversary party and raised money for AIDS research. And in the spirit of that original Sundance, CAMP Rehoboth can both fulfill its mission and help others in the community this unprecedented year. Sign up at camprehoboth.com. ▼
