Sundance 2020: United in Love
Since 1988, the Rehoboth Beachcommunity has gathered together onLabor Day Weekend to celebrate, dance, and raise much needed funds for thework of CAMP Rehoboth and other com-munity organizations. This year, anticipat-ed crowd density limits and safety duringthe time of COVID-19 mean Sundance 2020 will be a virtual event.
Sundance organizers plan to makethis summer’s event about supporting thecommunity and are especially sensitiveto the fact that local businesses will needhelp in recovering from lockdown
.“Sundance has always had an amaz-ing base of support,” says CAMP Reho-both and Sundance co-founder MurrayArchibald. “More than ever, we needour Sponsors, Supporters, and Hosts tocontinue to provide crucial funding forthe event.”CAMP Rehoboth provides communityprograms, outreach, and advocacy, andfor more than 30 years has worked tocreate a positive environment inclusive ofall sexual orientations and gender iden-tities in Rehoboth Beach and its relatedcommunities.“
CAMP Rehoboth’s goal from thebeginning was to Create A More Pos-itive community,” says David Mariner,CAMP Rehoboth’s Executive Director.“Sundance, through the generosity ofits hosts, supporters, and sponsors, hasraised funds to support the work of CAMPRehoboth and to establish Rehobothas a widely recognized community withroom for all.” Murray Archibald adds, “Wehave never felt the need more acutely toexpand our activities to be as inclusive aspossible, broaden the Sundance Experi-ence, and take it to a new level.”
This year, the organization is respond-ing to the unprecedented needs of thecommunity by turning Sundance into aweek-long, United in Love celebration, fundraiser, and community-building expe-rience. The event will kick off on August30 at 6 p.m. and culminate the evening ofSeptember 5.

Thanks to Women’s FEST Organizers
The 2020 Women’s FEST that never happened took a lot of prep work and passion.
CAMP Rehoboth thanks the Committee and all the volunteers for the work they did from June 2019 through that sad day in March when the FEST fell victim to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks, ladies for all your hard work. On to 2021!

Olivia Cruise Raffle? Did We or didn’t We?
Yes, we did. By the time you are reading this we did pick a winner for the Olivia Travel Raffle that was supposed to be part of the canceled Women’s FEST 2020. Unfortunately, the drawing was held on June 15, right after this issue was put to bed….so no announcement here.
But we thank Olivia Travel for hanging in with us, donating the trip despite the circumstances of the FEST’s cancelation. We don’t know whether this luxury cruise to Greece and Israel will happen in October as planned, or if there will be a substitution, at a later date, for our winner. But we are so thankful that Olivia Travel and so many of our 2020 Women’s FEST donors for keeping their 2020 donations with CAMP Rehoboth despite the fact that the FEST didn’t happen this year. Donors, we cannot thank you enough.
