Andrew Criss Art Show at Peninsula Gallery in Lewes |
Peninsula Gallery, 520 East Savannah Road, Lewes, Delaware, will feature an exhibition of recent oil paintings by Rehoboth Beach artist Andrew Criss, opening Friday, November 29, 2002. The show, titled Insite/Outsite, consists of 30 paintings by Criss, all featuring buildings and structures as subjects.
"The theme came from the gallery owner, Tony Boyd-Heron," says Criss, who has been preparing the show for a year. "Tony had seen my cityscapes in 2001 and asked if I would exhibit similar pieces at Peninsula Gallery." Criss gathered subjects by driving around the mid-Atlantic region. Views depicted range from row houses in New Jersey to towns in Maryland and farm houses in southern Delaware. "The show was a great excuse to go exploring," says Criss. Insite/Outsite will open with an artist reception on Saturday, November 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition will continue through December 31, 2002. For more information call 302-645-0551. |
