Connect
It was quite an event! The Black and White Beach Ball on June 4 at the Atlantic Sands marked the start of the fifth year of the Founders' Circle Capital Campaign. The setting was fabulous! (Star-studded to be precise.) The food and drink were great, the music a real plus, the flower arrangements were works of art, and all with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Then, there was the real art! Seventeen artists with local ties, working around a common theme, produced and donated their work to be auctioned to support the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. The result was a wonderfully diverse grouping of framed art. As dramatic as the setting was, I was most taken with the people that attended the event. There was such warmth as they greeted each other, many after being apart for months. They were glad to connect with old friends and to meet new community members. Clearly, they were happy to be part of something as big and wonderful as the Community Center and they celebrated accordingly! After all, isn't that connection and being able to interact with friends and community what the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center is all about? (By the way, the result of the art auction was nearly $30,000 towards the Community Center. Thank you to both the artists and the art patrons.) Founders' Circle It is official. We are in our final year of the CAMP Rehoboth capital campaign. Not only have the last few weeks produced new Founders' Circle members but a good number of our current members have upgraded their pledges. (This is the last year to be listed as a member but you can still take five years to complete your new pledge or upgrade.) Our deep appreciation to all who have become recent members of the Founders' Circle, upgraded your original pledge, or made your pledge payment. Our current totals stand at 400 members pledging $909,736.77 with $613,839.92 paid. It's not too late for you to join the Founders' Circle. You will be making an investment in our community, plus it's a great tax deduction. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Note to membersAs you plan your summer parties, consider asking your guests to make a contribution to the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center in lieu of a "hostess gift."
