LETTERS From CAMP Rehoboth |
SPEAK Out |
Eighty female golfers ponied up the funds to play in the CAMP Rehoboth Golf Classic last week.
More than two dozen volunteers, mostly male, manned (no need to make politically correct substitutions here) the course, set up the silent auction to follow the tournament, help arrange the luncheon and pretty much saw to it that everything that needed attention got it. What a pleasure it was to have that kind of assistance from the guys while the gals golfed to raise money. I love this community. Fay Jacobs I'm organizing a bus trip for Saturday, December 8 from Rehoboth Beach to New York City. Many of you have been on my holiday bus trips before and know it's a great deal of fun. In the past, the trip was generally the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but I decided to make it a little later this year, so the lights will be on the Rockefeller Center tree. This will be a terrific trip for holiday shopping, catching a show, sightseeing, etc. Due to the demand, I am sending this out very early. If the bus fills quickly and there is enough interest, I will reserve a second one. If you are interested in the bus trip, please email me at ericdavison@comcast.net and I will send you a reservation form and answer any questions. Tickets are $65 per person and open to everyone so feel free to forward this information to whomever you like. The ticket price includes round-trip transportation, tolls, and tip for the driver, and as always, I provide refreshments on both legs of the trip. Eric Davison I am writing to urge everyone to vote to keep Patrick Gossett as a member of the Rehoboth Beach Commission. We continue to need Patrick's leadership and commitment to Rehoboth and to us. Patrick has a record of leadership on issues such as smart growth, preserving our neighborhoods, preserving trees, supporting the business community and numerous other issues that keep Rehoboth Beach a great community and the place we all love. He has led the effort to gain more public participation and input on city issues like building codes. Patrick believes that only through more people participating in these discussions can we reach consensus on these important issues. In addition Patrick has been endorsed by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund and for me, having openly GLBT members on the Commission is a plus forboth our community and for the city. We have worked long and hard to make Rehoboth the friendly and welcoming diverse community that it has become. Much of the credit must go to CAMP for making it possible for Patrick and other open gays and lesbians to run and win in Rehoboth. Again, I urge you to cast your vote for Patrick Gossett and to allow him to continue to serve the people of Rehoboth and to make us proud. Peter D. Rosenstein Letters to Letters should be sent to editor@camprehoboth.com or mailed to 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth, DE 19971. Letters may be edited for length and clarity. Please include a daytime phone number for verification. Unsigned letters will not be published. |
