Summer Produce Shines at the Historic Lewes Famers Market
Summer is in full swing as the beach communities celebrate sun, sand, and fresh, local produce! The Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon on the grounds of the Lewes Historical Society at 110 Shipcarpenter Street at the corner of West Third and Shipcarpenter Streets. The HLFM is the largest producer-only market in Delaware, again named Best Farmers Market by Delaware Today.
Vendors have a wide variety of fresh local produce, including just picked strawberries, fresh cut lettuces and greens, garden plants, flowers, freshly-laid eggs, cheese, yogurt, milk, grass-fed chicken, pork, fresh oysters, and much more.
The Market continues to process SNAP (EBT Food Stamps). To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, this year the HLFM will match up to $20 with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to go to the SNAP Information Tent to redeem the Bonus Bucks incentive.
