Girls Night Out In Rehoboth Beach |
by Tricia Massella |
Sampling the fragrances at True Essence. We thought it was about time the girls put a fun column together about who was on the scene, and where the scene might be found. For future columns, anyone is welcome to submit info you think might be of interest to us girls. First off, happy birthday to Susan Gerson who celebrated her 35th on Hickman St. over the 4th of July weekend, and what a great weekend. DJ Jam Foks was at the beach spinning for three big dance parties at the Renegade, where over 1200 women attended. There were prizes, giveaways, and even a bikini contest which was won by Jackie from New York City. Peggy Martz and Pam Smith. After a hectic weekend of work, several of us girls decided to enjoy ourselves during the week. On Wednesday, we wandered over to Plumb Loco for a margarita and some Karaoke featuring Shelly Abbott and Tina. Crystal, the bartender with that great smile, was a sweetie as usual. After that we stopped in True Essence to say hi to Suparne Mehra. Lynn Foraker and Beatrix in der Wiesche couldnt resist the temptation of designing a new perfume for themselves. After a little of this and that, the perfect scents were created. I opted for a summer version of my favorite OPIUM. So sporting our new fragrances we decided to go to Yum Yum for locals night. Bob Lynam (a.k.a. waiter at the Back Porch Caf) was guest bartending while Velvet Waltz was playing background music in the enchanting courtyard. Thursday, Chris Minner turned up the Karaoke machine at the Frogg Pond while Stephanie and Eileen bartended for a full house. After a drink and a little socializing we were again on the move. As we were leaving we could hear Bobby belting out Heart Break Hotel with an Elvis flair. We walked down to The Beach House Restaurant where Terry Ryan was getting into the tunes with Liza and Jean (the dancing machine). By the way, The Beach House raised over $5,000 for the Breast Cancer Drive benefitting the Susan Komen Foundation. Crystal Edmondson and her famous smile at Plumb Loco. Friday, Regina AaMacha (Blue Raven) started her Rehoboth music tour at Loris Cafe in the CAMP Courtyard from 3-6 p.m., then on to Dream Cafe from 8-9:30 p.m. and winding up at Woodys where bartenders Kim and Kymer mixed cocktails for the evening. Liza and Jim Oehling (from Hershey, PA) were not only enjoying the music but Jim managed to pull Peg Fuller from her chair to dance a few songs with him. We then headed cross town to say Happy birthday to John Meng of the Double L who was very surprised when Michael Graham and the staff of the Double L threw him a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY BASH! It was his partner Mark Fernstrums job to keep him away while the guests arrived. Hundreds attended including Rob Dick (Blue Moon), John Barbarulo, and Lance Schema (Cloud 9 and Double L) just to name a few. Saturday the Beach House was jammin with a few familiar faces like Pam Smith and her girlfriend, Peggy Martz, Sue Cline (Aurora Grill), and Lori Kline (Loris Cafe). Zo Vette from Bowie, MD was there to meet her best friend, Mary Fab from Dunedin, Florida for dinner and drinks. Linda Bova was our bartender. Watch for Jeanie Topper and Carmen Electra who will be behind the bar on Saturday nights. This Friday, July 17 and 18, Red Letter Day will perform 10 p.m.-1 a.m. Dont forget "Blue SKYYS" are coming every Sunday at Plumb Loco 5 p.m. - 1 a.m. Check it out! So much to do in such a small town! To be continued... |
