Rehoboth Art League Presents Romantic Comedy Feb. 10 & 11
The Rehoboth Art League, with Fay J. Productions, will present the romantic comedy Shirley Valentine by Willy Russell.
Described as a funny and heartwarming one-woman show, Shirley Valentine is about a woman who longs to expand the boundaries of her life, from the kitchen of her small English flat to the sun-drenched beaches of Greece.
Under the direction of Fay Jacobs, the production stars Caren Anton, appearing through the courtesy of the Actor's Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States.
Anton's credits include theatre, television and films, ranging from comedies to classics. She has appeared with the Washington Shakespeare Company, Source Theatre, Horizons Theatre and more. Her TV credits include Homicide: Life on the Street.
Jacobs, whose resume includes more than 25 years of professional productions in the Washington, D.C. area was last represented at the beach with the sold-out run of Love Letters at the Art League and the musical revue Razzle Dazzle at La Rosa Negra restaurant in Lewes. She is also director of the Rehoboth Beach Main Street Association.
Shirley Valentine will be presented for three performanceson February 10 at 8 p.m. and on February 11 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., in the Chambers Studio at the Rehoboth Art League.
