Luca Mazotti, master sommelier, wine educator and wine editor for Italian Cooking & Living and La Cucina Italiana will explore nine Italian wines and multiple regions of vineyards in a special learning experience sponsored by Teller Wines and benefitting SCAC.
The event will be held on Saturday, July 19 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Restaurante Salero atop the Henlopen Hotel, at the north end of the Boardwalk. Tickets are $40 per person and are available at Teller Wines, SCAC and CAMP Rehoboth. All ticket proceeds benefit SCAC. In addition to tasting and learning about the complex world of Italian wine, foods suitable for the wines will also be available. Classic Italian cheeses are being provided by Bill Wilson and Beautiful Foods. Regional appetizers are provided by Restaurante Salero. Steve Kogler and Lesley Cowan from Teller Wines promise a fun, educational, and delicious afternoon. "Luca has unparalleled experience with Italian wines," says Steve Kogler. "In sharing those experiences, he will tell us about Italian wine history, 'terroir,' and, of course, give us tastes of several rare and delicious wines."
