Flora & Fauna at Peninsula Gallery A lifetime resident of the Eastern Shore, M. Joyce Zeigler's old family farm is now Tuckahoe State Park in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. It was here, as a child riding a feisty workhorse through the countryside, that she first started to store up images of fields, flowers, wildlife, water and birds that would later become subjects for her brush.
Joyce Zeigler's show opens at the Peninsula Gallery, 520 E. Savannah Rd in Lewes on November 29 with a reception to meet the artist from 5-7p.m. For further information call 302-645-0551. Art Show Benefits Milton Theatre On Saturday, November 29 beginning at 6 p.m., award winning nationally recognized artists Michael Bell and Michael Sprouse join forces in a two man exhibition and fund raiser benefiting the Milton Theatre Project. From the early silent movie days to the modern wide-screen, color, talking movies, the Milton Theatre proved to be a cherished place of film entertainment, and now a great place to showcase fine art. The theatre was recently purchased by The Milton Development Corporation, a non-profit organization of community and business leaders. The MDC has exciting plans for the theatre which has been listed with the National Register of Historic Places. The event, Saturday, November 29 at Zwaanendael Gallery of Art and The Zwaanendael Hotel Conference Room at 142 Second Street in downtown Lewes, Delaware, begins at 6 p.m. Tickets, which include chances for all the raffle items, as well as food and drink, are $20. For tickets or additional information, call Michael Sprouse, 302-645-1005 or Regina Wood, 302-236-1816. The collection features over 20 paintings by Criss, all with a canine theme. "I wanted to have a little fun, and paint with a more humorous and graphic style than usual," says Criss, who is known for his portrait and landscape oil paintings, "and it was a great excuse to spend time with a bunch of dogs." How to Draw Dogs will hang at Nassau Valley Vineyards in Lewes for the month of December.
