In Brief |
Join CAMP In Kids Christmas Drive The Holidays are coming, and with them come the cold temperatures of winter. The Delaware State Housing Authority has asked CAMP Rehoboth to once again help them come up with gifts for the 150 children under the age of 12 who live in Burton Village here in Rehoboth. This year the priority is to provide each child with a brand new hat and gloves/mittens. Can you help? New hats, gloves and mittens can be dropped off at CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave. We will wrap them, and deliver them to Burton Village in time for their community Christmas Party. If you have any questions, please call Kathy at CAMP Rehoboth, 302-227-5620. Let's do what we can to keep these kids warm this winter. Delaware Choral Society Celebrates 50 Years The Delaware Choral Society (DCS) is proud to invite you to celebrate 50 years of bringing choral classics to the Dover Region. The 2006-2007 Concert Series begins on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 4:00 p.m. at Central Middle School, 211 Delaware Ave. in Dover. DCS will perform Handel's Messiah including all of part one, commonly called the Christmas portion, and selections from parts two and three, including the famous Halleluja Chorus. The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with DCS for the December and March performances. Conducted by Julien Benichou, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee 10th season. Judith Moore, in her final season as director, will conduct the Delaware Choral Society for all three concerts in the Series. Tickets and information for the December 10th concert can be obtained by calling 302-242-0828 or online at delawarechoralsociety.org. CAMP Table Wins Prize at Beebe Ball CAMPstyle: The Mad Hatter was the theme of CAMP Rehoboth's prize winning table at the Beebe Medical Foundation's Thanksgiving Ball. Thanks to Murray Archibald and all the volunteers who helped put it together. Rainbow Thumb Club Cleans Up The pleasant atmosphere of the CAMP Rehoboth Courtyard falls under the care and maintenance of CAMP Rehoboth's Rainbow Thumb Club. They gathered recently for a fall clean-up day. Pictured (l-r) are Ken Reilly, Tony Ghigi, Scott McHugh, Barb Ralph, Bud Palmer, and coordinator Steve Hoult. Plans in Place for 2006 Starburst Gayla at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center "The theme is 'Puttin' on the Ritz' and it will be an elegant evening of dancing, cocktails and desserts," said Cathin Bishop. Don't let the elegant part deter you, however, because at this popular New Year's Eve women's dance you'll see people attired in everything from jeans to cocktail dresses to tuxedos. The dance music will be great, with plenty of places to sit and catch up with friendsold and new. Tickets for the event, which benefits The Wellness Community-Delaware, WomenHeart, and the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, are $50 per person up to $1,000 for a reserved table for ten. To order, call CAMP Rehoboth, 302-227-5620. |
