Christopher Peterson Performs A Bit of Diva Magic at the Renegade |
For the next several weeks, female illusionist Christopher Peterson will continue to amaze and delight audiences at the Renegade. Appearing every Saturday in the Cabaret and every Sunday in the Main Lounge, Peterson brings a wonderful sense of theatre and humor to his successful cabaret act. In the course of the show, he also manages to transform himself into all of our favorite divas including Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, Madonna, Tina Turner, Julie Andrews and Carol Channingto name a few.
Renegade Manager Wayne Hodge says that he is "amazed at the response," and will most likely continue the run through the month of July. After seeing the show it is easy to understand why the crowds keep coming back. Peterson has an excellent voice and a rapid fire wit and makes all his changes on stage, tossing each character in a growing costume pile on the floor. This is definitely not your typical "drag" showits performance artand a good time for both straight and gay audiences. The words "female illusionist" in the ads for the show have caused some to wonder if this is a magic actand it is. Peterson may not pull a rabbit out of a hat, but he certainly makes magic appear in the shape of the stars. Shows are Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 p.m. through the month of June. Dont miss this one.
