Centaur Releases Pride CD Featuring Julian Marsh |
For five consecutive years, Centaur has been celebrating Pride with the release of a dance compilation that features gay themed anthems and cutting edge new music. DJ/Producer Julian Marsh kicked off the Pride series as a solo effort in 1998, and has been an integral part of the Pride series ever since. Julian has shared the mixing duties over the years with fellow DJs Susan Morabito, Wendy Hunt and Joe D'Espinosa. This year Julian is once again going solo, and his signature uplifting sounds make for the perfect soundtrack to Party Groove: Pride.
Julian Marsh is a well established Circuit DJ. He has been DJing since 1995 and has played many of the major circuit parties in the United States as well as in Canada, Brazil, and Holland. Julian prefers to play upbeat melodic music with words, in a world where vocals seem to have disappeared from the dance floor. Julian has carried his trademark sound into his own remixes and original music productions. Remixes have included artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Whitney Houston, Lonnie Gordon, Joi Cardwell, Sandy B, and former Star Search Champion Marty Thomas (the guy who beat Brittney Spears). Party Groove: Pride offers songs from a variety of musical genres that are certain to be familiar, however on this disc they have been transformed into dance floor hits. "Evergreen" is an amazing remake of the European #1 hit originally sung by Will Young and "What If" was originally a ballad performed by Titanic star Kate Winslet. Jan Pulsford, former keyboardist and backup singer for the 80's band Thompson Twins provides the background vocals on the Happy Charles cover of "Hold Me Now" from the same band. "Come Sail Away" and "A Little Respect," two songs appropriately on theme for this disc, also offer familiar lyrics laid over updated beats. Billie Ray Martin had a monster hit with "Your Loving Arms," and with the male vocals of Australian newcomer Michal Nicolas, this new version adds a whole new dimension to the original. Marsh also throws a few new gems into the mix, including the latest from Jocelyn Brown and a second helping of Erasure with "Moon & The Sky," performed by Erasure. Da Buzz also makes an appearance with their latest "Believe In Love," but to top it off, Julian brings the CD to a close with the Banderas' timeless classic "This Is Your Life" featuring the lush vocals of Emma Holland. A perfect reminder to enjoy your life, cause that's what it's all about. Party Groove: Pride is available at stores nationwide including Lambda Rising, Virgin Megastores, Borders Books & Music, SPEC*s Music, Tower Records, Camelot, HMV, Wherehouse and Blockbuster, and online at www.grooveCD.com or www.centaurmusic.com, where visitors can listen to samples of every track on the album. |
