CAMP Rehoboth Community Center Founder's Circle Update |
by Andrea Andrus |
You will not want to miss one of the most fabulous events of the year! The date of the third Black and White (and red all over) Beach Ball is quickly approaching and tickets sell out fast. The Beach Ball Committee has been working overtime to insure that this year's event on May 31, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. will be the best ever. From decorations, to entertainment, to the HeART of the community Art Auction, we have worked to create an affair that is casual, electrifying, fun and informative. Taking place in the wonderful Atlantic Sands Hotel's ballroom with a great ocean view, everyone who attends will enjoy delightful cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a vocal performance by the popular Peggy Raley. During the evening, we will honor all of our Founders' Circle members and supporters who believe in our dream to expand CAMP Rehoboth into a full-service community center that symbolizes our strength and unity. Our 154 Founders' Circle members have pledged over $371,600 to date to our five-year Capital Campaign to raise $1,000,000. Through their generosity, we feel confident about the future. You also will have an opportunity to learn more about the Founders' Circle Capital Campaign and our vision for the future of a full-service Community Center. Robert Hotes, the Project Manager representing DPK&A Architects, our newly chosen architectural firm who will help us plan the renovations to our 39 Baltimore Avenue home, will attend the event and take this opportunity to meet all of our wonderful supporters. Rounding out the evening will be the fast moving and entertaining HeART of the Community Art Auction with the dynamic Chris Riss as auctioneer. Attendees will have the chance to purchase creative works of art that are the artists' interpretation of "summer love." It's a great opportunity to purchase a wonderful work of art and give back to your community. With such a jam-packed evening, there will certainly be something that appeals to everyone. It is our hope that those of you who attend the event, who are not yet Founders' Circle members, will join at some level of giving to help us further energize our Capital Campaign. All you have to do is complete the Founders' Circle pledge form included in this issue of Letters and send it to the CAMP office. A copy of the Founders' Circle brochure, providing detailed information about the Founders' Circle and its membership levels, is available by contacting us. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Gifts may be paid in cash, securities, or other property, including real estate. Pledge payments can be made annually, quarterly or monthly by check or credit card. Please contact us if you wish to make a bequest. Additionally, when you join as a member, you will receive unique Community Center gift(s) and your name will forever become part of the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. Your name or the name of a loved one will be permanently inscribed in our official Founders' Circle records. Depending on the membership level, names will be inscribed on a brick, a tile, a door or a room. For those of you who join at the highest level of "Founder," we will ensure that all of your names, or the names of a loved one, receive the highest level of recognition. As the Community Center design unfolds, our architect will explore the most meaningful way to achieve such recognition. Should the design entail an open space environment or only a limited number of rooms, then an inspiring and artistic concept will be created that dramatically honors all those who have been so generous to contribute at the highest level of "Founder." If you are already a member, consider upgrading your membership to a higher level or giving a gift of membership to a friend or family member. Or ask your friends and family members to join themselves as members and become part of our community effort to promote cooperation and understanding among all people. Having just been voted as the "Favorite GLBT Community Service Organization" by GayDelaware.com readers, you will be investing in an organization that continues to be a shining star. As we cut the yellow ribbon on that evening, signifying that we are entering our third year of the Capital Campaign, we need the support of each and every one of you to help us keep the dream alive. So, join us on the magical evening of May 31st for an evening of celebration, entertainment and pride.Pledge Form available in PDF format HERE Andrea Andrus may be reached at 302-227-5620, or by e-mail at andrea@camprehoboth.com. |
