HTP Promises a Night of Nunsense
Nunsense, the rollicking, hilarious and amazingly topical musical comedy is on its way to both Milton and Rehoboth Beach this June. The show, produced by the Henlopen Theater Project and directed by Fay Jacobs is set to play June 2 and 3 at the historic Milton Theater in nearby Milton, Delaware and June 8 and 9, most likely at the 300 seat Rehoboth elementary School auditorium. With book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin, Nunsense is an absolute showcase for five talented musical comedy divas who sing, dance and keep you laughing until your sides hurt. This production of Nunsense stars veteran performers Margaret Allman, Sue Centurelli, Nori Morton, Eloise Ullman and Diana Wolfe. These veteran entertainers all have musical comedy resumes that could stretch from Rehoboth to Milton and are looking forward to working with each other in this show that boasts five leading lady roles and no end to the Nun jokes. Between them, these actresses have played a gaggle of leading ladies in such shows as Evita, Chicago, Mame, The Sound of Music, Annie, Singin' in the Rain, The Music Man, Sweet Charity and more. Together on stage in Nunsense they will share the spotlight in pure nunsensical fun. All five of these leading ladies have worked with director Jacobs in the past, some of them performing here in Rehoboth. Margaret Allman starred in The Diary of Adam & Eve and Stage Door Canteen at Rehoboth Art League, Eloise Ullman starred in both I Do, I Do, also at the Art League, and The Vagina Monologues at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Director Jacobs, whose theatrical resume includes more than 30 years of professional productions in the Washington, D.C. area has directed productions in Rehoboth and Lewes since 1997. Tickets for Nunsense (playing June 2 and 4, 8 and 9 for four performances only) are available from the Henlopen Theater Project by calling 302-226-4103.
