The Choices We Make Determine Our Success
Nick and I usually do our grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon. This particular Saturday was very different than the other times we normally shop. This was Super Bowl Saturdaythe stores were mobbed! Lines and lines everywheredeli, bakery, and meat departments. It was interesting to see what people had in their grocery carts. We saw cartons and cases of sodas, and big bags of chips. There were lots of salsa and dips, as well as chicken wings, cheese platters, and cold cuts. Lots and lots of food items containing salt and fat. What we didn't see were fresh veggies, fruits, flavored waters, and baked items instead of fried. Hopefully, these people don't eat like this all the time, but judging from their body types they should've opted for the healthy food choices. Now, come on, folks. This is February and most of you should be involved in some type of exercise regimen by now. Don't you know that these are the "dangerous months"? Just after we have celebrated numerous holidays that invite us to stuff ourselves, we now have another holiday, like Super Bowl weekend, in which to indulge again. You could bake a turkey instead of serving those greasy, salty chicken wings. Think of your guests. Shouldn't they be allowed to eat healthy, too? As we were checking out, the cashier remarked "gee, you guys sure eat healthy." "Yes, sir," I said, "it's the choice we make." Now for something totally different. Instead of trying to explain the various exercises you should do to achieve a healthy lifestyle, Nick and I have come up with a way to make it as uncomplicated as possible. Since we don't have the space here to draw diagrams explaining each exerciseand some people just can't comprehend anything unless you show themwe've come up the idea of videotaping the exercises and putting them on the internet. Now, these aren't tough or heavy or complicated to do. We explain the exercise, what it does, and what it is good for. We call it exercise for beginners. It's not power lifting or strong man heavy lifting. It's for people of all ages, and sizes, and it's easy. The videos are not long less than 10 minutes eachand are easy to comprehend. Nick got me started on this. He has several power lifting videos on Youtube and gets great response from them. He suggested that I try this for beginners, body builders, and seasoned die-hard gym rats. It seems to have worked out quite well. So, if you are a person like me who finds it difficult to understand doing a task without guided instruction, then try these. Go to the Youtube site and key in 21GUNSRICK training tips. These videos should help you with your exercise regimen and get you on your way to a healthier lifestyle. After all, it's February and you need to get started on your diet and think about how you're going to look in that bathing suit come Memorial Day weekend.
