Grief Support Group Begins at CAMP Rehoboth
A six-week Life Partner Grief Support Group will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave., beginning Monday, May 4 and running through Monday, June 15 (the group will not meet on Memorial Day). This group, open to adults suffering the loss of a life partner, will explore the meaning and process of grief. It will also help in regaining a sense of balance and direction. The group leader, Sally Packard, LCSW, is a bereavement counselor at Delaware Hospice. There is no charge to participate, although registration is required. Women's Group at CAMP Rehoboth CAMP Rehoboth is looking for a volunteer facilitator to help coordinate a bi-weekly women's discussion group at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. We Remember Charles Francis Flynn, born February 11th, 1931 in New York City, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2009 at Cadbury Continuing Care Retirement Community in Lewes, Delaware. CAMP Volunteers On Vacation CAMP Rehoboth volunteer Claire Ippoliti has put together a great opportunity for members of the GLBT community to make a difference in the Rehoboth Beach area. On Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. volunteers will work with the staff of the Westside New Beginnings Community Center (in West Rehoboth) to paint and organize their kid's library. Delaware's Equal Rights for All Coalition Meets with Governor Jack Markell Delaware Governor Jack Markell met with members of the Delaware Equal Rights for All Coalition on March 25 to review legislative initiatives and concerns of special importance to the GLBT community. The group, which is composed of representatives from GLBT organizations throughout the state, has been meeting for several years in support of legislation designed to protect the rights of the GLBTcommunity and its family members. Prior to the meeting with the governor, the group celebrated the success of having HB 5the GLBT anti-discrimination legislationvoted out of committee for debate and consideration by the Delaware House of Representatives.
