Flowers are popping up as fast as new shows and gallery openings. Celebrate Spring by supporting the arts and stimulating the local economy. THEATRE Clear Space Productions (in residence at Cape Henlopen High School, 1250 Kings Highway in Lewes; 302-644-3810; www.ClearSpaceProductions.org) premieres an original interactive children's theatre experience: The Three Adventures of Sinbad at the Baycenter in Dewey BeachSaturday, April 4 (3 & 7 p.m.) and Sunday, April 5 (3 p.m.). During April, the Lake Avenue gallery features A Taste of Spring, original paintings by Howard Schroeder, Jack Lewis, William Hekking, Frederick von Leuzer, De Lancey Gill, Bob Doney, Frederick Richards, Christopher Shearer and Franz Brandt. The 70 Rehoboth Avenue gallery continues an exhibition from the Biggs Museum of original paintings of Delaware and the Eastern Shore by Edward Grant (1907-1998). Opening April 26, Entr'Acte seven decades of etchings by Robert B. Wright. [MOSAIC member] Detail Gallery (54 Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach; 302-227-8170; shopdetail.com) features the work of New York and Wilmington artist Luigi Ciuffetelli. A graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Ciuffetelli creates imagery of pop culture Superhero Icons that are ready to leap off the canvas in a single bound. Based in Charlotte-sville, VA, Richards works include watercolor and china ink illustrations, four-color plate etchings, linocuts and 2-channel lenticular holograms. The show runs thru April 12th. In an effort to promote preservation of planet Earth, MOSAIC galleries will each feature eco-friendly artwork as well as eco-friendly merchandise this month. Participating galleries are noted in this column. SPECIAL EVENTS Saturday, April 18 (all day)Make your reservations for a bus trip to the Kennedy Center to see Ragtime. The bus leaves Rehoboth at 9:30, participants arrive by noon in DC and are dropped off on the National Mall to spend the afternoon at museums, lunch, and dinner until 6:30. Thursday, April 30 (6:30 p.m.)The award-winning documentary Chihuly, River of Glass (2004, 90 min) is shown at The Inn at Canal Square in Lewes. American glass sculptor, Dale Chihuly, dubbed "the Picasso of 20th-century glass" has earned international acclaim for both his breathtakingly beautiful blown-glass sculptures and his collaborative approach to art and creativity. This is a joint venture between the Rehoboth Film Society and the Rehoboth Art League. A reception with light refreshments is included. Reservations are required302-227-8408.
