CAMP Rehoboth Board of Directors

   President - Wesley Combs

  Wesley Combs is the Board President at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. After the untimely passing  of CAMP Rehoboth co-founder Steve Elkins in 2018, Wes was asked to serve as a community member of  the search committee for CAMP’s next Executive Director. Wes was nominated to the board in July  2019 and served as CAMP’s Vice President in 2021. 

   Wes is an executive coach, a diversity, equity, and inclusion expert consultant, and passionate social  justice advocate. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion  as a trusted advisor working with clients who share his values of enabling equity, equality and  opportunity in the workplace and the community. Wes also serves on the Board of Advisors for WAMU,  Washington D.C.’s NPR station. 

   Wes and his husband Greg met in Rehoboth Beach in 1988 and have been coming each summer ever since. In  2021, Wes and Greg made Rehoboth Beach their primary residence.

 

   Vice President - Leslie Ledogar

   Leslie Ledogar is the Board Vice President at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. With her background  in Administrative Law, and board and community service, she was asked to serve on the Governance  Committee as it was in the process of updating the Community Center's bylaws. Leslie was nominated  to the board in 2021 and has served as CAMP’s Vice President since January 2022. 

   Leslie is an attorney with over twenty-five years of experience in environmental, administrative  and insurance law, working as regulatory counsel for two different state agencies in two  separate states. She is well versed in social justice and civil rights advocacy and is also viewed as a  leader on the Delaware political scene.  

   Leslie and her wife Marilyn met in the Philadelphia area in 2001 and spent summers and weekends in  the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach area ever since. Since 2013, Leslie and Marilyn have called greater Lewes  their home.

 

  Secretary - Pat Catanzariti

  Pat Catanzariti has been a Board Member at large at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center since January  2021. Pat became involved with CAMP back in 2011 while volunteering at Sundance on the food team  with her friend Jane Blue. She later became the Sundance food co-captain with Jane in 2018 and then  Captain in 2019. Pat was also the Chair of the Volunteer Development Committee from 2018 through 2020. In 2021, she took the responsibility of Chair of the Development Committee which oversees  Events, Grants, Membership and Technology for CAMP Rehoboth. 

  Prior to retiring in 2016, Pat worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Pharmaceuticals as an Executive  Director overseeing a global team that reviewed and cleaned the clinical and laboratory data that was  generated from patients on their clinical trials. These data were ultimately submitted to the FDA for  approval. Prior to this last position, Pat ran a clinical laboratory at BMS for 17 years which ran patient  samples that were enrolled in their clinical trials across the US and Canada.

 

   Treasurer - Polly Donaldson

   Polly Donaldson joined the CAMP Rehoboth board in July 2023. Originally from Baltimore MD, she lived in Washington DC for many years before retiring and moving to Rehoboth Beach in October 2021. 


   Polly has over 35 years of professional leadership experience working in the nonprofit sector with international development organizations and affordable housing and homeless service organizations in Washington DC. She concluded her career in the government sector, directing the DC Department of Housing and Community Development under Mayor Muriel Bowser for 7 years. She was recognized as one of the Mayor’s longest serving, senior LGBTQ+ staff members. Polly’s experience with non-profits board leadership and management includes strategic planning and visioning, nonprofit organization development, successful grant and event fundraising, government and foundation grant management, advocacy coalition building and public speaking and outreach.     

  Polly’s move to Delaware is a return to a place of great happiness, as she had been coming to Rehoboth Beach since childhood and continued that tradition with her wife and daughter over the past 25 years. Polly is widowed, having lost her wife and partner of 29 years to cancer in February 2020. She has one daughter, Florence, who is 26 and is a baker and chocolatier living in Washington DC. 

   Director At-Large - Lewis Dawley

   Lewis Dawley assumed the role of Board Member at Large in January 2023. Since retiring in 2020, Lewis  has focused on building a stronger connection within the area community and giving back. He has been  an active volunteer with CAMP Rehoboth serving as a member of the SUNFESTIVAL committee for the  past two years.  

   Lewis was in the hospitality industry for 40 years, 38 of which were with Marriott International where he  held various leadership positions within full-service hotels and within the company’s corporate office. In  his last role Lewis was responsible for leading the development of a new reservation system. This project required extensive customer research and a multi-year roadmap for deployment to thousands of  hotels. Within 18 months the new booking experience generated over $25M in new revenue in a subset  of hotels.  

Personally, Lewis fell in love with the Delaware beach life and the LGBTQ community during a summer  visit in 1993 and the following year he met his husband Greg, and they visited every summer and later  year-round. In 2005, Lewis and Greg decided to reside in Rehoboth Beach full time and we both worked  remotely. We enjoyed having this connection to the community and participating in community events and non-profits including CAMP Rehoboth, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity (board member), DE  Humane Animal Partners, and Delaware Food Bank. 

 

  Director At-Large - Mike DeFlavia

   Mike DeFlavia is the Board Secretary at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center and been on the board  since 2017. Prior to joining the Board, Mike volunteered for various events, as far back as 2001 on the  Love (July 4 weekend) Committee, and beach cleanup projects. Having carried on the longstanding  tradition of house theme parties, when he went from renter to homeowner, and to fill an Independence  Day weekend void, he and his partner hosted a pool party. The last 10 of the 15 pool parties became  fundraisers for CAMP, raising more than $75,000. 

   A nonprofit fundraising consultant by trade, Mike has been with his current employer since 2008, having  previously worked at a nonprofit in DC and various commercial companies in Philadelphia and the  suburbs. 

   Mike began coming to Rehoboth Beach in the late 1990s on holidays or for weekly stays for his birthday  (July 2, coincidentally the same day as CAMP Founder Steve Elkins). It was on one of those vacations in  2000 that he met his partner Tony on the dance floor of the former Cloud 9 (now Sussex Public House).  As of January 2022, Mike and Tony have made Rehoboth Beach their primary residence after 20+ years  in Washington, DC. 

 

   Director At-Large - David Garrett

   David Garrett became a Board member in January 2021. He has served on the Grants Committee. He  became involved with CAMP as a regular columnist for Letters in May 2015. His column, “Straight Talk,”  focuses on LGBTQ issues from the perspective of a straight person. He is also the parent of a trans  daughter.

   David spent his career as an ordained pastor and in executive management for trade associations. Now  retired, he works part time at the Polo Outlet Store, along with doing some volunteer work at New Life  Thrift Shop. He and his wife Marti are active members of Epworth Methodist Church. 

   David has been coming to Rehoboth since summer, 1998. He and Marti stayed at her parents’ beach  house in North Shores. When they bought a condo in Rehoboth in August 2012, they were regular  weekenders from Central PA. Then in June 2015 they built their permanent home and have been full  time since. 

 

  Director At-Large- Jenn Harpel

   Jenn Harpel assumed the role of Treasurer in January 2023. Jenn has served as a co chair for CAMP Rehoboth’s Women’s FEST and played a leadership role in the founding of CAMP  Families. 

   Jenn Harpel has served in a variety of financial advisory roles since 2008 at Morgan Stanley. Currently  Jenn is a Vice President known for her expertise as a Financial Planning Specialist, Senior Portfolio  Manager, and Financial Advisor.  

   Prior to this, Jenn held various leadership roles within the sport of US women’s lacrosse. Jenn’s love of  lacrosse and field hockey in college earned her All-America honors. Upon graduation, she was named to  the United States Women’s Lacrosse Team. Since 1993, Jenn has served on the boards of US Women’s  Lacrosse Association, Women’s Division US Lacrosse, Inc, and served as the first Executive Director of  Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association. 

After retiring from the sport Jenn moved to Rehoboth and soon began a career as a Financial  Advisor. Jenn and her spouse Katie live in Lewes and have a son, Jason Harpel-Rickards.

 

  Director At-Large - Kim Leisey (non-voting)

  Kim Leisey joined CAMP Rehoboth Community Center in July 2023.   

  Prior to CAMP Rehoboth Kim worked in higher education at the University of Maryland, College Park, Butler University and most recently the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  Kim's service in higher education spans 38 years.  Her experiences include health promotion, programming, facilities management, community development, threat assessment and management, athletics and recreation.   With a doctorate in Human Development Kim's passion is the holistic well being of people throughout the lifespan.

  Kim and her spouse, Kathy, relocated to Southern Delaware in 2020.  Kim serves on the Board of Coastal Concerts and plays cello in the Southern Delaware Orchestra.

 


  Director At-Large - Amanda Mahony Albanese

  Amanda Mahony Albanese assumed the role of Board Member at Large in January 2023. Amanda has served as a community member on the Development Committee since 2021, utilizing her undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Champlain College in Burlington, V.T. along with experience in roles in fundraising, marketing and communications for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. 

  Amanda has a Master of Arts in Clinical Holistic Mental Health Counseling from Salve Regina University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health. Amanda specializes in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and working with the LGBTQI+ population. Amanda has completed trainings in DBT, TF-CBT, Complex Trauma, Reiki I, and is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), having received her 300 hour in 2017 from Sadhana Yoga in New York and her 200 hour in 2015 from Burlington Yoga in Vermont.

Originally from New York, Amanda moved to Delaware in 2020 and is married to Alexander Albanese, a bi-lingual School Psychologist and Lacrosse Coach. In her free time, she enjoys teaching yoga, antiquing, and listening to the Grateful Dead.

 

  Director At-Large - Michelle Manfredi

  Michelle Manfredi assumed the role of Board Member at Large January 2024. Prior to joining the board, Michelle Manfredi volunteered for various events, such as the Handmade Markets, Young Professionals, Youth Up, and SUNFESTIVAL. Michell was the co-chair for the 2023 Block Party and the 2024 Women’s FEST.

 
  Michelle Manfredi, a native of Syracuse, NY, moved to Delaware in 2017. Michelle is a graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in Art Education and has a master's degree in reading education from Grand Canyon University. Michelle moved to Delaware to pursue a career as an elementary art teacher at Lake Forest South Elementary. In this position, Michelle works with students after school for art club and tutoring, organizes and creates events with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, and creates diverse opportunities to learn and create to all their students. 

 

 

  Director At-Large - Teri Seaton

  Teri Seaton assumed the role of Board Member at Large in January 2023. Teri served as a co-chair in  the successful 2022 Women’s Fest and will be co-chairing the 2023 event as well. Teri was cop-chair of  the Entertainment subcommittee for SUNFESTIVAL 2022 and is the president for CAMP Rehoboth’s  Theatre productions. 

  Teri Seaton, a native of Washington DC, moved to Delaware in 2007. After graduating graduated from  San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Teri started her career  with global investment firm, KKR & Co. Inc., Retail Division where she was a Regional Operations  Manager for 28 years. In this position, Teri aided in bringing several low performing companies up to  standards in all aspects of retail operations to include, asset protection, training and development, risk  analysis, budget management, strategic planning, labor management, and technical proficiency. 

Upon retirement, Teri became a full-time caregiver for her aging parents and brother. Teri has  volunteered with Rehoboth Beach Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, Clear Space, Possum Point,  Epworth United Methodist food ministries, and Brandywine SPCA.
