CAMP Rehoboth Presents a Recital by the Dover Quartet

The renowned Dover Quartet with clarinetist, David Shifrin, will be performing a recital on Friday, February 2, 2024 in the Elkins-Archibald Atrium, 37 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth, DE. The concert will be 2 - 3 p.m. 

Named one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine, the two-time GRAMMY-nominated Dover Quartet is one of the world’s most in-demand chamber ensembles. The Dover Quartet is the Penelope P. Watkins Ensemble in Residence at the Curtis Institute of Music and holds additional residencies at Northwestern University and the Artosphere festival. The group’s awards include a stunning sweep of all prizes at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition, grand and first prizes at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and prizes at the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition. Its honors include the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, Chamber Music America’s Cleveland Quartet Award, and Lincoln Center’s Hunt Family Award.

Joining the Quartet for this performance, is internationally acclaimed clarinetist, David Shifrin.  He is the winner of both the Avery Fisher Career Grant (1987) and the Avery Fisher Prize (2000), and is in constant demand as an orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber music collaborator and educator.  He has appeared with the Philadelphia and Minnesota Orchestras and the Dallas, Seattle, Houston, Milwaukee, Detroit, Fort Worth, Hawaii and Phoenix symphonies among many others in the US; and internationally with orchestras in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
