I Support the Girls collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women, girls and menstruators experiencing homelessness, impoverishment or distress to stand tall with dignity.
I Support the Girls – Delaware was founded in January of 2023 by Linda Willimer. Linda had previously been the founding Affiliate Director of I Support the Girls – Central/South New Jersey, established in 2018. Since moving to Delaware, Linda has worked hard in the past 7 months with her team of amazing volunteers to service 18 organizations in Sussex County alone.
ISTG aims to donate menstrual products, period and gender-neutral underwear, teen or nursing bras for distribution throughout Sussex County and beyond.
ISTG currently needs donations of thin and teen pads, individually wrapped panti-liners and feminine wipes. ISTG packs these into small pencil cases or make up bags to be distributed to schools and organizations for Back to School Backpacks. ISTG is also aiming to assist LGBTQ+ youth to provide items they may not have access to due to a lack of financial and/or domestic support.
