Grab a brew on tap (made exclusively for Double L by Dogfish Head Brewing) and shoot some pool. You're sure to have a good time! EVERYTHING'S COMING UP FOLLIES! Now that the summer season is here, seven groups have signed up so far to perform skits at the July 27 CAMP Rehoboth FOLLIES: 3 Victoria Square, 10 George, 88 Sussex, 302 Laurel, 1015 Fifth, 1103 Eleventh and Libby Stiff & company. Only the next three applications received can be assured a place on stage. Applications are available in any recent issue of Letters from CAMP Rehoboth or can be downloaded from www.CampRehoboth.com. Don't miss your chance to shine on stage and be a part of what will certainly become one of most memorable summer events yet! In other Follies news: Enhanced lighting and sound systems will be installed at the convention center to ensure no performer goes without a spot light or unheard in the back row. Krowleski Vodka and Four Square Rum have signed on as Sponsor. Artist extraordinaire, Rodney Cook, has donated a colorful painting of orchids titled Phalaenosis to the Follies Live Auction. The Follies Committee is still looking for a professional videographer. If you know one, please contact Maggie Ottato at Maggii46@yahoo.com. HOUSE PARTY MADNESS When it comes to themed house parties, no place does 'em like Rehoboth. With elaborate themes and imaginative costumes, it's like celebrating Halloween every Saturday night. This summer, expect more of the same from some of Rehoboth's most creative beach houses, both old and new! While NEWS & NOTES doesn't want to give away the surprise themes, we will be listing the upcoming parties well enough in advance so you'll have time to prepare your crazy costumes, group gimmicks and grand entrances. Still, we don't want to leave you hanging, either. So enjoy the following "hints" as to what's in store for you this party-packed season... In July, may the Force be with you as you resist the dark side with an army of clones. (Yes, we know it sounds like a circuit party, but we promise, it's not). Next, shift from Queen Amidala to one of many Queens of the Screen for a stroll down Hollywood's Walk-of-Fame. Beyond this, expect some returning favorites such as the all night dance fest, "Full Moon Party," and the afternoon splash fest, "Squirt Gun Party," now in its 8th year. If your beach house is thinking of throwing a theme party this summer, don't forget to reserve your slot on the party calendar. Traditional party times are 5 - 8 p.m. (dirty cocktails) and 9 p.m. - midnight (larger scale theme party). It isn't mandatory to schedule your party on the calendar, but it might help prevent another beach house from having a party at the same time as yours. To get listed, send your beach house address, party date, time and theme to NewsNotes@aol.com. If you have news or information you would like to share for the next issue of NEWS & NOTES, send it to NewsNotes@aol.com. |
