Connections
It seems like the summer just started but here we are ready to celebrate the second major holiday of the season. Holidays are always a catalyst for community action and gatherings. Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a wonderful example of how communities all across our nation come together in the spirit of celebration and freedom. The United States is truly a diverse nation with dynamic individuals, and we cherish our right to be free, independent, and to be ourselves. In this important election year, all of us in our community need to pull together to celebrate our strength and our voice. We need to work together to ensure that we lose none of our rights as we grow toward equality. As we celebrate our country's birthday on July 4th with barbecues, fireworks and a great time at LOVE Weekend 2004, let's take time to reflect on what it means to live in a wonderful community in the "land of the free and home of the brave." We hope you all continue to work with us at CAMP Rehoboth as we seek to bring everyone closer in understanding and love. Happy birthday, America! Founders' Circle Our community is incredible! Since the Founders' Circle Black and White Beach Ball on June 5th, membership pledges and pledge upgrades have been coming in daily to the CAMP office. This outpouring of support from the community gives us the energy and strength to keep working hard on the Capital Campaign and moving toward our $1,000,000 goal. We now have 279 Founders' Circle members who have pledged $702,681. We've received $399,131 in pledge payments as we enter the fourth year of the campaign. We will all be proud of our new community space once it's completed in 2006. Imagine the love and pride we will feel as we open the doors to our full-service community center and dedicate it to our Founders' Circle members who believe in our vision to help gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, and all others in our community, live happier and healthier lives. Please make a difference in your life and in the lives of others by joining the Founders' Circle Capital Campaign today. With eight membership levels, from $100 to $15,000 and up to choose from, we have tried to provide an opportunity for everyone in our community to participate. You will receive a tax deduction and free Community Center gift(s) for your donation. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We accept cash, checks and American Express, Mastercard or VISA. You can pay in full, annually, quarterly or monthly depending on your budget. We also accept gifts of real estate or appreciated stock. Everyone who donates during the five-year campaign will be listed as a Charter Member on our wall of Founders and, depending on your level, your name or the name of a loved one will be inscribed on a brick, a tile, a door or a room. Complete the pledge form included in this issue of Letters and return it to the CAMP office. It's a simple process that will make a huge impact. Become a true philanthropist for your community and join with us to build a home together! Pledge Form available in PDF format HERE Andrea Andrus is the CAMP Rehoboth Development Director.
