CAMP Connect |
by Andrea Andrus |
Connections In the entertaining and touching movie, The Lion King, they sing and talk about the circle of life. There are many definitions of circle but the ones that are most thought provoking are: "the area within which something acts, exerts influence;" "a complete series forming a connected whole;" or "a number of persons bound by a common tie." Our circle of life is our community that connects groups of people who have common interests and a shared sense of purpose and caring. From the CAMP perspective, we have a wonderful and diverse community of individuals who gives us strength and continuously rekindles our spirit of togetherness. People in our community generously give money as we've seen by the continued success of the Founders' Circle Capital Campaign. But, people in our community also truly give of themselves through their energy and time to help our community as a whole move forward with dignity and pride. CAMP Rehoboth prides itself on helping to organize our community on many fronts and promoting social change but our community truly has a life of its own that transcends events, programs and services and goes beyond the lives of us all. The Community Center seeks to be the place where all our different circles can connect and will continue as a tribute to each and every person who makes a contribution, long after we are gone. Founders' Circle CAMP Rehoboth promotes community participation and development through membership in our Founders' Circle Capital Campaign, which is the economic dimension of our community. Through all of our efforts to build a full-service Community Center that will be an inclusive home for everyone, we encourage team spirit and tolerance. Only then can we continue to build our base of influence and power. The more influence that we have, the more we can achieve our community's objectives and affect positive changes. It's important for each and every one of you to decide what your role will be in our community. We encourage you to be a catalyst for change. Make suggestions, promote action, and above all, appreciate each others' differences and learn from one another. A great way to learn about others is to join the Founders' Circle and be a part of the cornerstone of our Community Center. Every person who joins the Founders' Circle within the first five years of the Capital Campaign that began in 2001, will have their names inscribed in the official records as Charter Members. The Founders' Circle is a diverse and unique group of individuals, businesses and foundations who are the different voices for our community. It is an opportunity to come together with others to achieve a special goal and to form relationships that offer love and support. It's an easy process to join. Simply complete the pledge form included in this issue. Join the 287 Founders' Circle members who have pledged $734,243 to date. You can choose from one of 8 membership levels and from one of several ways to make payments that fit your budget. We accept cash, checks, American Express, MasterCard or VISA. You can also make a gift of real estate or appreciated stock. We also urge you to take advantage of matching gift programs if they are available to you. A matching gift program will enable you to pledge at a higher level. You also can give membership gifts to family and friends who believe in the value of community. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. "Wherever you go, whatever you do, a little piece of you stays there. Like your circle in the sand that the tide cannot wash away. You've made your mark on eternity." M.
