Married After 22 Year Engagement
Barb Thompson and Evie Simmons were married in Toronto, Canada on October 24, 2003. They both hail from Southern New Jersey and now reside full-time in Rehoboth Beach. Barb and Evie met while attending Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) over thirty years ago. After graduation they went their separate ways and 10 years (1981) later, by chance, they met again and the rest is history. They have been together for 22 years and are enthusiastically looking forward to the next 22 plus years. The marriage festivities included a stay at the B-R Guest Bed and Breakfast in Toronto, the "I Do's", a dance to "The Sweetest Thing" (a Juice Newton tune), luncheon at the CN Tower, a visit to Niagara Falls (the proverbial honeymoon trip), shopping at Niagara on the Lake, attending church at MCC Toronto, checking out gay Toronto, fabulous meals, meeting many warmhearted people, plus watching the Eagles football team play on Canadian TV (it's a lesbian thing). Barb and Evie both agree that the event and other festivities were even more special as they were shared with their friends, Wayne and Tom. (Pictured are newlyweds Barb Thompson and Evie Simmons, Justice Harvey Brownstone, and newlyweds Wayne Juneau and Tom Negran) Toronto Nuptials for Local Couple Tom Negran and Wayne Juneau were married in a civil ceremony on October 24, 2003 at the North York Family Courthouse in Toronto, Ontario. Canada Justice Harvey Brownstone officiated in his chambers. Tom, a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology, is retired after 30 years with Bell Laboratories and AT&T. Born in Highland Park, New Jersey, graduated from Highland Park High School, he now resides in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. His father, Jules Negran is deceased. His mother, Helen Negran, resides in Monroe Township, New Jersey. His sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Lowell Burgin, reside in Piscataway, New Jersey. Wayne is a graduate of New York University and NYU Film School, a lay Eucharistic minister, and a semi-retired photographer and voice actor. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, his father and mother are deceased; he moved to New York in 1963 and then to Mount Olive, New Jersey in 1980 (with Tom) before moving to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Both are active in the beach communities and their church. The couple has been together for 27 years. Send notices of marriage and commitment ceremonies to editor@camprehoboth.com. |
