City of Rehoboth Seeks Holiday Tree
The City of Rehoboth Beach, in cooperation with Rehoboth Beach Main Street, Inc., is looking for a 35-40-foot evergreen tree for its annual display at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. Anyone wishing to donate a tree should call 302-227-2772. The City will arrange to have the tree taken down and transported to the bandstand area. It's a grand Rehoboth tradition and many imposing trees have been donated to the City over the years. Rehoboth Beach will decorate and display the tree and present the Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving, at the Bandstand Pavilion on Rehoboth Avenue. It's a festive night in downtown Rehoboth Beach. And it all starts with the right tree! Silver Lotus to Show Debiase Photos The Silver Lotus Training Institute and Center for Healing Arts is pleased to announce a one-person art show, The Yin and Yang of Photography, featuring the work of local photographer Geri Debiase. The public is invited to view the show at the opening reception Saturday, September 30, from 4-7 p.m. Geri, a Lewes resident, says her philosophy "to take a closer look, to go more slowly" is evidenced in her art. Her photography is music to the eyes, a serene look at the world around us, an up-close and personal exploration of the wonder of life. Silver Lotus is located at 19633 Blue Bird Lane, Suite #9, in Rehoboth Beach. For information, call 302-226-0401. MCC Rehoboth to Hold Homecoming Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) of Rehoboth invites everyone to a special "Homecoming Celebration" on the land the church is buying on Plantation Road on Sunday, September 24th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. There will be a special Worship Celebration, followed by a potluck picnic. All are welcome to attend, including past, present, and future members of MCC, as well as those who would like to know more about the church and its ministries. Please bring your favorite cold dish and a chair or blanket to sit on. The church property is located on Plantation Road (Route 1-D), just north of Route 24, on the west side of the street. Look for the sign that says "Future Home of Metropolitan Community Church Rehoboth." For further information, please contact MCC's pastor, the Rev. Tom Bohache, at 302-645-4945. Letters Goes All the Way to Alaska On a recent excursion to the Alaskan wilderness, Sandra Pace and Barbara Passikoff stopped off in Anchorage long enough to pay a visit to the local gay and lesbian community center. While there, they shared ideas and a copy of Letters from CAMP Rehoboth. Drag Volleyball Takes Over Poodle Beach The Gaysha Girls and the St. Volley Girls look as pretty as a picture, but once they took to the volleyball court it was all business.
