He's Coming Baaaaack!
Liza is coming to town. And so is Cher, and through some mystical byway, even Peggy Lee will be here. Of course you know what's coming next: Christopher Peterson, illusionist extraordinaire is coming back to town July 1. Chris will be back in the spotlight in the Swan Ballroom at the Atlantic Sands Hotel with his nightly show Eyecons. And audiences will be treated to an amazing bevy of beauties, not to mention real characters. Of course, the banter will be as naughty as ever, too. Without giving too much away, Chris tells us that he has plenty of new numbers in the show and some new monologues for the girlshe's especially expanded the time he allows Liza to spend with us. There will be plenty to love about Cher, too. And those who heard Christopher sing at the CAMP Rehoboth Follies last year (and he will be back again at the Follies on July 22) know that when he sings on stage as none other than Christopher Peterson himself, his voice is as thrilling as that of any of his divas. Chris spent this past winter in Key West, dodging hurricanes. While his roof blew off and the house required quite a bit of sprucing up, "we got through it," he says. It's amazing to him that the tiny Island of Key West came through the pounding of the bad weather in very good shape. "We had no power or water for two days, and then that was it. We were back up and runningit was nothing like Louisiana." After he closed his winter season at The Crystal Room at La-Te-Da in Key West, Christopher spent some time in the Baltimore-Washington area before preparing for another summer in Rehoboth. He stopped by the legendary Hippo in Baltimore and then had the honor of being Grand Marshall for the DC Pride Parade. Folks who attended the parade and event saw Chris as host of the main stage entertainment having thousands of people in the palm of his character's hands. Just like last summer, when Chris is in town he makes himself part of the community. In addition to agreeing to Emcee Follies again this year, he will also be making a cameo appearance (a hilarious one, I am sure) in the production of Hello, Dolly at the Convention Center on July 18 and 19. If you've never taken the time to see Eyecons at the Atlantic Sands, plan on it this summer. Now only will you have a great time, but I bet that you will make reservations for two more performances at least, because Christopher cannot possibly channel all his divas in one night. And when you return, you will probably do what I didbring a gang of visitors with you. Chris says he is looking forward to another summer in Rehoboth. You may see him biking around town by day as well as under the spotlights at night. And the way he has become part of our community is best summed up by a quote from his web site: "A lot has happened in the world here lately with storms and war and terror. But, through it all, we still have friendship, laughter and a sense of the genuine goodness of most people. I am blessed to be able to have a successful career doing what I love to do, and I want to thank all of you for being part of my happiness. I wish you all good luck and joy this year, and I'll see you at my shows!" Absolutely! You can catch Christopher Peterson's Eyecons at the Atlantic Sands Hotel every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from July 1 through Labor Day. Advance tickets are on sale at The Atlantic Sands and at Gidgets Gadgets, or by calling 302-227-2511, ext. 660. |
