Oscar Night Party Benefits Rehoboth Beach Film Society |
As the stars begin to strut their way down the runway of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the 72nd Annual Academy Awards presentation, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will cover every sequin at its annual Oscar Night Fundraiser at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, 320 Rehoboth Avenue, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. The gala will commence with an Oscar pre-sow from 6-8 p.., with fashion commentary by E!'s Joan Rivers on two large-screens and three televisions throughout the establishment. The society will follow suit with its own equivalent of "The Golden Hanger Award," with three prizes in the "Best Creative Hollywood Attire" category. Partygoers can also take home a prize in the "Pick the Winners" contest, with great gifts for the top three predictors of Oscar category winners. The pre-show will be marked by a silent auction to benefit the society's upcoming film events, including the Third Annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival, November 8-12. Tickets are $20 ($15 for Society members, if purchased by March 17) and include hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. They are available at the Film Society, across from Radio Shack in the Rehoboth Mall, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at Dogfish Head, Monday, Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to close and Saturday and Sunday from noon to close. No credit cards are accepted. For more details, to volunteer for the event or to donate a gift for the auction, please call 302-645-9095. |
