Dancin' in the Street at Block Party
On Thursday October 10, 4-8 p.m., downtown Rehoboth will hold its second annual Wilmington Avenue Block Party. The event, which began as a local effort to assist the children who lost parents last September 11 was so successful and so much fun, it is being done again this year, with a more local focus. Once again, Wilmington Avenue will host the finest restaurants and businesses in Rehoboth and Lewes as they combine their efforts to help our local children as well as those still in need from the attack on America. There will be music, fun, fabulous food, and a great big neighborhood celebration all along Wilmington Avenue. People from all over the community will join forces to raise funds for Beebe Medical Center's Family Life Program to protect children from domestic violence, Rehoboth Beach Main Street's children's programs, and the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. With the entire focus on helping children, this will be one fantastic family event. Memories of last year's block party are still vivid, with the entire length of Wilmington Avenue bustling with people sampling the recipes of some of our finest chefs, enjoying singers and bands on two different stages, and participating in a host of other activities. The shops and restaurants of Wilmington Avenue will be open, there will be music in the streets and something for everyone. It will be a rain or shine event and an excellent way for local residents to come together to help our local youngsters. Tickets are $35 per person, with children under 12 FREE. 100% of all ticket sales and contributions will be donated directly to the Beebe children's program, the Scholarship Fund, and Rehoboth Beach Main Street. You may order tickets in advance by calling Celsius Restaurant at 302-227-5767, or through Camp Rehoboth at 302-227-5620. Dear Mary...
