Women’s FEST to Rock Rehoboth!
Hello CAMPers!
An amazing thing is happening over at the CAMP Rehoboth office. The phones are ringing like crazy with inquiries and ticket sales for the April 8-11 Women’s FEST—our tenth anniversary of the event, and from all accounts, it will be huge!
FEST Pass tickets are selling, selling, selling! For just $50, a FEST Pass will get you entry to the weekend’s Saturday breakfast by Nourish; choice of three FEMinar sessions; 10% discounts all FEST long at many of Rehoboth’s signature restaurants; $1 off drinks at several bars; a free individual, couples or friends portrait by Carolyn Watson; aTai Chi class with Susan Hamadock; a Bin 66 wine tasting, and much more. Hurry—tickets are limited!
Tickets for the concerts (Maggie Cassella on Friday at $20 and Sweet Baby J’ai on Saturday at $25) are going fast, too. With a smaller but fantastic venue this year at the Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts on Baltimore Avenue, they will sell out fast. Call 302-227-5620 today to reserve yours!
Presenting sponsor Olivia Travel is making a big splash this year. There will be a fabulous Olivia vacation auctioned off on Saturday night April 10 at the Sweet Baby J’ai concert.
Lots of new events are scheduled for the weekend, including the great news that the Ladies 2000 tea dance, from the famed promoters who have been holding forth at Nassau Vineyards, will be taking over the Convention Center from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 to throw one of their legendary dance parties.
CAMP is thrilled about this new partnership and cannot wait to see that hall filled with hundreds of exceptional women. The Philly DJ promises cool music and a hot time!
Plus, there are happy hours, trivia games, karaoke, a bike ride, downtown tour, our famous golf outing, a digital scavenger hunt, books signings and sooo, sooo much more!
Here’s how the whole weekend shapes up: Open Women's FEST 2010 brochure.
Thursday, April 8, a Welcome Night/Locals Night Happy Hour at the exciting new MIXX Restaurant, a tapas and Martini Bar under the helm of Ginger Breneman, dinner discounts at local restaurants, Celebrity Trivia at the Frogg Pond by DJ and trivia maven Sharon, and hot karaoke with Seaschell at the Seafood Shack with mixologist Stephanie behind the bar.
For Friday, we have the popular 9-hole Golf Outing (sponsored by Prudential Gallo Realtor Lana Warfield), a bike ride/cruise along the scenic Breakwater Trail with Patti Layton as guide, a walking tour by Joan Rodolfi through downtown Rehoboth, and even more events with a digital scavenger hunt organized by Judy Rolfe. Then it’s off to Cloud 9 for a women’s photography exhibit organized by Geri DiBiase and judged by local art critics. Happy hour follows at the Cloud—and get ready for lesbian speed dating!
At 9 p.m. is the Friday night concert by a P-Town favorite, comic Maggie Cassella, sponsored by Jenn Harpel of Morgan Stanley. Maggie’s fast-paced, political and social rant always has audiences howling at the famed Post Office Cabaret in P-Town.
On Saturday, FEST Pass holders will enjoy breakfast by chef Deb Sutter of Nourish and a short welcome. Then, the breakout sessions are an awesome combination of education and pure fun. The FEMinars are more Fun, Education, and Mingling than seminars—designed specifically for the Women’s FEST crowd.
In addition, photographer Carolyn Watson will offer a complimentary on-site photo studio for attendees with one free portrait. Lunchtime is on your own, with FEST Pass discounts and a book signing by A&M Books, featuring the book launch party for the novel The Carousel by TV producer Stefani Deoul and a game signing by Jackie Goff for the new Rehoboth-grown game Spellen-Meister.
Bringing the kids along? There will be a lunchtime Pizza Party for CAMP Families.
By 4 p.m. on Saturday the Convention Center will turn dance hall for that huge Ladies 2000 Tea Dance with great music and, of course, adult beverages! Headliner Sweet Baby J’ai (blues, jazz and raucous comedy too) will be on hand for a 9 p.m. Saturday night encore appearance at the RB Theatre of the Arts, sponsored by Susan Jimenez of Guardian Property Management. The buzz from Baby Jai’s concert here last year was like nothing we’d ever heard before—come witness an unforgettable evening of music and community from this West Coast headliner and Olivia cruise entertainer.
When Sunday, April 11 dawns, a slower pace may be in order, as CAMP will offer morning Tai Chi at the Community Center followed by the classic Women’s FEST brunch at Frogg Pond—great entertainment by Mama’s Black Sheep. Also on tap is a Jetty Group Champagne Limo Real Estate tour, a Poker for Fun Event at CAMP, and a closing party at Dos Locos.
Out of towners and locals inviting guests can find great lodging for the weekend with Women’s FEST discounts at Rehoboth’s Atlantic Sands and Breakers hotels, and at the following Rehoboth area Bed and Breakfast members: At Melissa’s; Delaware Inn; Homestead at Rehoboth B&B; Lazy L; Lighthouse Inn; Royal Rose Inn; Savannah Inn, and the Sea Witch B&B!
