On December 1, 1997, many of us will gather together in Rehoboth Beach at World AIDS Day events, to use prayer and love as a means of bringing unity to people who have been affected by AIDS. These people include those who live with the disease, the people who care for them, persons who have passed over, and all their relatives, friends, and others.
While this is a very powerful experience, I would like to invite you and your readers to go one step further. I would like to invite you to join the Metropolitan Community Church of Rehoboth Beach in a prayer vigil. I and many others believe that if we all join in nonstop prayer, a difference can be made and felt throughout the world and throughout the universe. When caring, loving souls join in prayer, a force is unleashed that is unbelievable! The doors of MCC will be open for people to come and pray for twelve hours on December 1st, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We hope to have people praying without ceasing during these hours so that no second passes without a petition to God. At the end of the vigil, we will ring the church bells for five minutes, to signal a joining of forces in Rehoboth Beach by the Boardwalk, to begin a Candlelight March with many organizations aligned in the fight against AIDS in our lifetime.
May God truly bless you. May Gods peace be with you. May Gods love light your way at all times. Thank you for your time and help.
David Patterson Interim Pastoral Leader
