Miss Gay Delaware Regional America Celebrates 10 Years |
Leighanne Richards Productions and the Renegade Restaurant and Lounge will present the 10th Anniversary of the Miss Gay Delaware Regional America Pageant, Sunday, September 27, 1998. This year the theme will be "Thriller: Divas of Darkness," a recreation of the Michael Jackson video choreographed by Michael McBride (a.k.a. Miss Tiffany R., the reigning Miss Gay Delaware Regional America 1998). Tiffany, and her dancers, are currently in rehearsal and promise a real treat to the pageants audience.
Miss Leighanne Richards, pageant owner and promoter, has assembled a professional team of artists and female illusionists, once again guaranteeing more than a touch of theatrical flair. Performers will include FeFe La Da Da, Maxine Chambers, Mahogany, Leighanne Richards and special guest Miss Maya Montana, the current reigning Miss Gay America 1998. The Divas costumes will be created by "La Da Da", (a.k.a. Mr. David Douglas of Douglas Designs); with set, special effects, and lighting created by the Actors Attic of Dover, under the creative mind of Susan Betts and her staff. The 10th Anniversary Pageant is a celebration of the many years the pageant has been striving to perfect the art of professional female impersonation. Leighanne Richards Productions has produced this pageant for the last 3 years and has continued to focus on the promise to be professional and to perform with the highest regard to this art. Owner and promoter Lee Cook repeats his adopted motto, "Act well your part, for there-in lies all honor." Sunday Night, September 27, contestants will vie for the title Miss Gay Delaware Regional America and the chance to represent the state of Delaware at the Grand National Competition in Little Rock, Arkansas in October. At the Miss Gay America pageant, Miss Gay Delaware Regional America 1999 and her First Alternate will compete against 70 other contestants from across the United States. Winners of this years pageant will receive the 10th Anniversary Prize Package rumored to be in excess of $3000.00 worth of cash and other prizes. Also included in the nights festivities will be The Hallmark Awards of Excellence.
