Rainbow Chorale of Delaware in Concert in Rehoboth on June 25th The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware (RCD), a 55-voice mixed chorus, returns to Rehoboth Beach to perform their PRIDE concert in honor of Gay Pride month, Saturday, June 25th at Epworth United Methodist Church on Baltimore Ave. This performance will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Now in its sixth year, the Chorale has become a vibrant musical institution and enjoys frequent sell-out audiences. This concert will prove no different as the chorus will surprise and delight their audience with their rich, vibrant, resonant sound singing songs of Aaron Copland, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. It will be an evening of beautiful music. All performances will be conducted by Elliott Jones, Artistic Director and accompanied on piano by Michael Helman. Another Take: GLBT Mini-Film Festival The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and CAMP Rehoboth proudly announce the launch of the Another Take semi-annual film series. The first series will take place on the evenings of July 14-16 and will feature gay and lesbian themed films. Better than Chocolate and Big Eden will be screened on Thursday and Friday respectively, at 7 p.m., upstairs at the Movies at Midway. On Saturday, CAMP Rehoboth will host an outside screening of Sordid Lives at 9 p.m. (Rain time and location: 7 p.m., upstairs at the Movies at Midway). Admission is $5 per screening. Evelyn "Champagne" King Headlines Love Retro Ball Love Weekend 2005 celebrates another fun filled Independence Weekend with two incredible dance events at the Rehoboth Convention Center plus, six other charity events over the four day holiday in Rehoboth Beach, featuring internationally famous, Billboard magazine reporting, super circuit DJ, producer, songwriter and remix artist Julian Marsh, Pop, R&B, and Dance music legend Evelyn " Champagne " King, and Saint DJ Mark Thomas. When Evelyn "Champagne" King steps out onto The Retro Ball stage at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center at midnight on July 1, the room will be filled with the grammy award-winning sounds of one of Pop, Dance and R&B's most celebrated legends. Known for her chart topping dance groove hits in the 1980s, "Shame," "I'm In Love," and "Love Come Down," Evelyn continues the tradition of great divas performing live on the Retro Ball stage. Get ready for another high-energy night as DJ Mark Thomas, famous from his tenure at the legendary Saint in New York during disco's golden age, returns to keep everone moving to the dance sounds of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Julian Marsh returns with his joyous grooves Saturday, July 2 for the Ultimate Love: Ultimate Summer Dance Party main event at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Tickets for Love Weekend are on sale at CAMP Rehoboth and Lambda Rising on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth and online at www.Love-Weekend.org. Tickets are $45 in advance for each dance event or available as a combo for $80 for both open bar dance events. VIP Weekend Passes, that include all eight events, are $135 and include sponsor gifts and bonus CDs for the first 150 purchasers. The Works! Party has Best Fireworks View Fireworks party reservations are still available for the party that's already become a Rehoboth traditionthe annual Main Street Fireworks party. It will be held fireworks night, Sunday July 3 at the Atlantic Sands Ballroom. More than half of the tickets are already gone, so now is the time to make reservations for the party that's a real blast! From 7-10 p.m on July 3, the party features great food and beverages, casual dress, a D.J. with beach party music, and then that special invitation for party guests to watch the 9:30 fireworks display from the rooftop viewing area at the Atlantic Sands. Tickets for "The Works!" are $50 per person for an all-you-can-eat beach party buffet. Two beer and wine tickets are included, along with celebrity bartenders. Bring a group or come and make new friends at this fireworks tradition! Tickets for "The Works!" are limited to only 150so everyone can have a rooftop view. Tickets on sale for Vagina Monologues The buzz has begun and tickets are already selling well for the encore presentation of The Vagina Monologues, coming back to Rehoboth this summer. The Fay J. Productions presentation garnered rave reviews at the Convention Center last winter and will be back Aug. 12 and 13 for two performances only at the top of the Henlopen Hotel. On Friday Aug. 12 and Saturday Aug.13 at 8 p.m., actresses Jane Bruns, Stacey Fearheiley and Eloise Ullman will be back for an evening of laughter and tears in Eve Ensler's award winning play. Tickets are limited, as the show is being presented in the intimate setting of a Henlopen Hotel banquet room. For this encore, 25% of the proceeds will be given to the CAMP Rehoboth Capital Campaign. CAMP Health Day Smiles Kay Malone, Sandy Roberts, and Doris Hensler, registered nurses from Beebe Medical Center, spent Saturday, June 4 staffing CAMP Rehoboth's Health Day. Condom Kings and Queens Leslie VanDiver, Scott Wiemer, Harvey Chasser, Guillermo Silveira, Bob Nagy, David Holder, Jerry Oskinski, Roy Perdue, Paul Fessler, Steve Proctor, Andres deCos, and Sal Seeley (in no particular order) help stuff more than 2500 condom packets for distribution during the summer. |
