Vagina Monologues Encore Presentation
The buzz has begun and tickets are on sale for the encore presentation of The Vagina Monologues, coming back to Rehoboth this fall. The Fay J. Productions presentation sold out and garnered rave reviews at the Convention Center in 2005 and will be back Nov. 15 for one night only at the new Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts on Baltimore Avenue. Veteran performers Jane Bruns, Stacey Fearheiley and Eloise Ullman will be back for an evening of laughter and tears in Eve Ensler's award winning play. Tickets are $35. Go online to purchase tickets at rehobothbeachtheater.com In January 2005, 900 people saw the show, directed by Fay Jacobs. The diverse audiences, men and women, gay and straight, young and not so young, gave standing ovations to the production as it raised funds for programs to prevent violence against women. "It's great to see that caliber of a performance in our own RB Convention Center," said Cape Gazette publisher Dennis Forney. "...provocative and liberating, the rafters were shaking at times with the riotous laughter." The Vagina Monologues grew out of interviews the author had with more than three hundred women ages six to seventy-six. The results are stunning, with stories ranging from an older woman's memory of her first experience with her sexuality to an account by a Bosnian refugee to a hilarious discussion of...well, you'll just have to come see! The monologues are by turns inspiring, hilarious, moving and thought-provoking. The play has played to sold out houses all over the world. Gather your friends, family members (including the men!), who missed the show last time around but heard so much about it, and plan to see The Vagina Monologues on Nov. 15 at the Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts. Reserve your tickets for a fantastic evening of theatre and laughter.
