As the autumn leaves drift by our windows, you should all drift out of your homes and support the arts! An awesome array of autumnal occasions awaits... Theatre Clear Space Theatre Company (in residence at Cape Henlopen High School, 1250 Kings Highway in Lewes; 302-644-3810; www.ClearSpaceProductions.org) Sussex County's only year-round, professional theatre company presents their New Works Festival. Thursday, November 13: New Artist Alysia Lee (SopranoMetropolitan Opera) and Songs That Tell a Storyone dozen new musical theatre songs selected from a world-wide competition. Saturday, November 15: Kinetics Dance Theatre: modern dance, including a world-premiere choreographed by Ken Skrzesz. Sunday, November 16: Children's Theatre: the American premiere of Goblins Don't Scare Us by British author Nigel Osner and composer BB Cooper. Three free public workshops in conjunction with the Festival: Wednesday, November 12 Soprano, Alysia Lee presents "Exploring the Female Voice" at 7 p.m. (Epworth UMC). Friday, November 14: Dance WorkshopKinetics Dance Theatre from 9-4 (Sussex Dance Academy @ Midway). Saturday, November 15: Children's Acting Workshop from 10-11 (Epworth UMC). Del Tech presents Clear Space Productions' 100 Years of Broadway on November 6the 8-person cast presents songs from George M. Cohan through Wicked. As part of the Sea Witch Festival, there's an interactive Children's Theatre presentation of The Grimm Trail (Grove Park behind Chamber of Commerce building) October 24 (5-8pm) and October 25 (1-5) $3. November 22: Reflections Of Frank and Dean: a tribute to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The Rehoboth Art League (12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres; 302-227-8408; www.rehobothartleague.org) offers several classes through the fall: Pastels, Watercolors, Pottery, Glass and metal. Also: An Art Quilt exhibition in the main Gallery. Novem-ber 1 (10-4) is the annual Holiday Faire with 40+ juried artists exhibiting fine art and crafts and holiday-inspired gifts. Opening November 14 is the Members Fall Exhibit and a showing of some of the Art Leagues' Permanent Collection. Thunderbird Gallery (200 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach; 302-227-1900) October: The art of Fabian Perez, whose early training was from his motheran expert in painting with Chinese inks. His father, however, ran two bordellos, tweaking Fabians' passion for painting women. The Mosaic Collective of one dozen local art galleries (www.MosaicRehoboth.com) hosts Second Saturday receptions (6-9 p.m.) on October 11th and November 8th. Drop by any of the member galleries for a complete listing and map. As part of a collaborative effort between the MOSAIC art collective and the Jazz Festival, there will be roving musicians sponsored at each of the MOSAIC art galleries. Starting at 1 p.m., musicians will performing till 6 p.m. Food and drink will be provided at each of the sites. Upcoming Special Events Clear Space Productions hosts their 2nd Annual Stage-Struck Gala on October 25th at the Bay Center at Ruddertowne in Dewey Beach. Theatre Company members are joined by CSP guest artists: Britt Shubow (Mamma Mia), Peter Tedeschi (former MSNBC correspondent), Terrence Sullivan (South Pacific), Laura Weiss (Thoroughly Modern Millie), and Megan Thomas (Hello, Dolly! / Beauty and the Beast) to provide the evening's entertainment. Bus leaves Rehoboth at 6:45 a.m.arrives NYC 10:15 a.m. Bus departs NYC at 7 p.m. and arrives in Rehoboth around 10:30 p.m. Catch a show, dine out, ice skate, sight-see, visit museums/galleries or do some holiday shopping!
