Wonderful, Glorious, Amazing Sundance

Sundance 2011 was a great success thanks to the hundreds of attendees at the dance and the auction. Pictured right: auctioneer Lorne Crawford calls out for bids on the painting by Sondra Arkin.

Angry Birds vs. Von Tramps! Drag Volleyball Continues a Labor Day Tradition on Poodle Beach

A two-decade old tradition continued on Sunday of Labor Day weekend when the Angry Birds faced the Von Tramps on the sand for the annual Rehoboth Beach Drag Volleyball extravaganza! Congratulations to the Von Tramps for their 2011 victory.

Rescheduled Sundance 5k Joins Labor Day Line-up

With a huge turnout of runners, walkers, and sashayers, the second annual Rehoboth Beach Sundance 5k broke its previous record in both dollars raised and number of persons participating. Thanks to Chris, Joey, Roxie, and the whole crew that made the event a success.

15th Annual Pride Festival, Saturday, September 17

Make plans now to head to Gordon’s Pond in the Cape Henlopen State Park for the 2011 Delaware Pride Festival. With headliner Taylor Dayne, MC Jade Esteban, and a host of other entertainers, plus a wide array of vendors, the festival is something to be proud of.... Be sure to stop by the CAMP Rehoboth tent and say hello.

John Siegfried Book Signing at CAMP Rehoboth Courtyard

Letters regular contributor (and Ft. Lauderdale resident) John Siegfried has recently published Gray & Gay, A Journey of Self-acceptance. It’s not an accumulation of his columns of the same name but his personal story. Join John and friends for a book signing on Sunday, October 2 from 3-5 p.m. at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.

Take to the Streets in Support of AIDS Walk Delaware

It’s the fifteenth annual Delaware AIDS Walk, and it’s just as crucial that you walk this year as it was in the first year. We are still facing an epidemic, both at home and throughout the world, and the need for funds is greater than ever. Please consider forming a team, or join CAMP Rehoboth’s team on Saturday, October 8.

CAMP Members Make Plans to See Billy Elliott in DC

Start your new year off right and join friends for a trip to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to see the touring company of Broadway’s Billy Elliott on Sunday, January 8, 2012. The excursion will include round-trip bus fare from Rehoboth, and orchestra seats for the matinee performance at a cost of approximately $125 per person. If you are interested, contact Jane Blue at 302-542-9928.

Letters Goes Around The World

Linda Kemp, Carolyn Horn, Georgette Krenkel, Rose Schmidt, and Letters toured the Great Wall of China. Then it was off to Provincetown with Leah McCloskey, Geri Dibiase, and Donna Sabecky. Letters loves to travel!

Prepared for Trouble and Ready for Irene!

Not willing to tempt the fate of Mother Nature, businesses throughout the beach area prepared for the worse when Irene came calling. Fortunately, Dos Locos, the Blue Moon, and everyone else came through with minimal damage.
