Bringing the Black & White Beach Ball Back Home!
For years, the Black and White Beach Ball, the signature start of summer for CAMP Rehoboth, has been the premier event to attend. More party than fundraiser, more fun than formal, more friendship than friendraiser, the Black and White signals the end of this terrible winter and the beginning of a fantastic summer season.
And the great news is that this year the event, with Presenting Sponsor PNC Wealth Management, will be held at our very own home at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.
Set for late afternoon/early evening on Saturday night May 31, the Black and White Beach Ball will fill the big room at the Community Center, the front galleries, and, weather permitting, spill out into the beautiful CAMP Rehoboth Courtyard as we catch up with old friends and kick off the summer season after this long, and very cold, winter.
HeART particulars.
Long known as the event to bid on great art, this year the Black and White HeART of the Community juried art auction is concentrating on our stellar local artists, the cream of the crop, with only ten fabulous works of art in the live auction including: Laura Hickman, Nick Serratore, Sondra Arkin, Lee Wayne Mills, Bill Snow, Michael Sprouse, Ward Ellinger, Brian Petro, Rod Cook, and Aina Nergaard-Nammack. Of course, our official CAMP Rehoboth auctioneer Lorne Crawford will be on hand to keep the bidding lively. In concert with the ten live auction pieces, there will be a separate silent auction, with even more great artwork, (just check out the list of silent auction artists in the sidebar!), leaving quality time for socializing, dancing (to DJ Jimmy DePre, with cocktail hour tunes) and enjoying the open bar and food, catered by the equally stellar Plate Catering.
Tickets are $60 and limited, so call 302-227-5620 now to reserve—or even better, go to the CAMP Rehoboth website and do it all online.
Here’s good news.
Want to see a preview of the art? You can view all of the live and silent auction pieces at CAMP Rehoboth beginning May 23, so you can get an eyeful and plan your auction strategy (and you can even go ahead and place an early bid on the silent auction pieces). We are so lucky that our small community has such a huge reservoir of well-known, award winning artists who generously participate in this event. Can’t join us in person on May 31? Proxy bidding available, ask for details.
What are you wearing?
And remember, the dress is black and white casual—or even black and white costumes for the daring among us! The place is the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center and the mood will be bright, light, and summertime fun. If you’ve made this your tradition, we cannot wait to see you; if you haven’t been in a while, we want you back to experience the whole new Black and White Beach Ball 2014. If you’ve never joined us, come for the first time, and we promise you a grand experience—with art, food, fun, and friendship!
Hurry! Tickets are going fast!
