Razzle Dazzle, a brand new after-dinner cabaret revue is set to open at La Rosa Negra Restaurant, 128 Second St., Lewes, for four performances: Oct. 31, Nov. 1, 7 and 8.
An eclectic collection of musical numbers, Razzle Dazzle is all about the complicated world of show business, and features classic show tunes, as well as some deliciously obscure lyrics and music.
Directed by Fay Jacobs, Razzle Dazzle stars Margaret Allman, J. B. McLendon and Eric C. Peterson. Allman and Peterson performed in Sondheims Broadway, Jacobs production at La Rosa Negras first after-dinner cabaret this summer. McLendon is on loan from New York where hes been seen in numerous cabaret venues.
"The format will be similar to our last show," says Fay Jacobs. "There is a mix of up-tempo numbers, ballads and plenty of laughs. Were even working on a mini-tap number. It has to be mini for this tiny cabaret stage."
Razzle Dazzle includes music from such show biz legends as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Noel Coward, and songs from shows such as A Chorus Line and 42nd Street.
Following the sell-outs with their first after-dinner entertainment this past season, Jacobs and La Rosa Negras owner-chef Bob Cirelli decided to team-up again in order to bring this new production in at a time when it could be enjoyed by more of the local audience.
Seating for Razzle Dazzle is 9 p.m. on the two Friday performances: Oct. 31, and Nov. 7, and 9:30 p.m. for the Saturday performances: Nov. 1 and 8. Tickets are $10. Call La Rosa Negra, (302) 645-1980.
