LETTERS From CAMP Rehoboth |
First Minister Named by Local Unitarian Congregation |
...and their doors are open to all
Reverend Hull says he is amazed at the vitality of Unitarian Universalism in Southern Delaware, where the new church has grown from a group of a dozen persons to a congregation of over 80 in just under two years. "There is so much energy and vitality for liberal religion here. That is why I have titled my first sermon `Were in Charge of Celebrations" he said. "We will celebrate the accomplishments of this young congregation where members are able to explore their own meaning of religious truth in a beloved community of compassion and justice." Formed in 1997 to provide a church that is diverse in theology, spirituality, philosophy and culture, the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware have been searching for a full time minister with help from the national Unitarian Universalist Association. Reverend Hull will serve for approximately ten months, to help the new church prepare for, and search for, a long-term minister to take over in the summer of 1999. The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware meet every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Lewes Middle School, on Savannah Road, in Lewes. Everyone is welcome, regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation. Religious education and nursery services are provided. Call 302-645-6334 for more information. |
