BEACH BOOK 2002 SIGN-UP
Ring, ring! That's the sound of your beach house telephone when you get listed in Rehoboth's summer telephone directory, The Beach Book. Signing up is FREE. All you need to do is fill out a simple form on page 88 in this issue of Letters or online at www.camprehoboth.com. You can also pick up a form at CAMP Rehoboth, 39 Baltimore Avenue. This is the 10th annual Beach Book, due for release June 22, 2002. Deadline to submit forms is June 2nd. Don't be left out! BLACK & WHITE BEACH BALL Get your black and white beach casuals on and head to the Black & White Beach Ball, Saturday, June 1st from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Atlantic Sands Ballroom (Baltimore Avenue & the Boardwalk). The Black & White Beach Ball is the second annual CAMP Rehoboth Founder's Circle event designed to honor those who are providing financial support for the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center Project (CRCCP) and to encourage new members to join the Founder's Circle. A highlight of this year's event will be an art auction called the HeART of the Community, for which 16 artists have agreed to produce a painting. Each painting will also be reproduced as a set of greeting cards to be sold during the coming year to raise additional funds for the CRCCP. Tickets are $30 per person-complimentary for Founder's Circle members at the Friend level and above. For information or to make reservations for the Black & White Beach Ball, call Kathy Weir at CAMP Rehoboth at 302-227-5620 or e-mail her at Kathy@CampRehoboth.com. BLUE MOON CHEF AT "CHEF'S BEST" Blue Moon chef, Peter MacMahon, is one of fifty top chefs who will be serving up specialties at the annual Food and Friend's "Chef's Best" dinner on Monday, June 3rd in Washington DC. Join Peter and other chefs (from the Inn at Little Washington, DC Coast, Teatro and more!) for one of the best fundraisers of the year, which includes an open bar and silent and live auctions. For tickets (which sell out fast!), call host committee chair, Peter Rosenstein, at 202-785-4268. BACHELOR AUCTION RETURNS TO REHOBOTH The always-entertaining Rehoboth Bachelor Auction is returning on Saturday, June 15th from 5-8 p.m. at the Blue Moon. As always, all proceeds are being donated to LOVE 2002, which benefits SCAC, CAMP Rehoboth, Rehoboth Beach Main Street and The Women's Project of CAMP Rehoboth. Last year, the event raised approximately $26,000. Don't miss out on all the fun and for your chance to bid on one of this year's beefcake bachelors. LOVE 2002 WITH DJ DAVID KNAPP LOVE, Rehoboth's annual July 4th dance benefit, which originated in 1995, is expanding in 2002 like never before. To start off, the LOVE committee has secured DJ/Producer David Knapp as the headlining DJ for Saturday night's main event. David has energized dance floors in NYC (The Roxy and Limelight), Palm Springs (White Party), Miami (White Party @ Vizcaya), Montreal (Black and Blue Ball), and other dance venues from Sydney to Tokyo. Without a doubt, his presence will make this the best LOVE yet. Next, the LOVE benefit, which traditionally has been a single Saturday night dance, is now expanding to include a weekend-long string of events. The "new" LOVE 2002 Weekend now includes a Friday Welcome Party, the Ultimate Summer Beach Party! on Poodle Beach Saturday afternoon, and Afterglow, the Sunday morning after-party. Adding these events to the main Saturday event and the repeat of last year's Sunday Tea Dance make for a full weekend of fundraising fun! The LOVE Benefit Committee is making a VIP Weekend Pass available for the first time. The VIP Pass allows express entrance to all these events plus admission to the VIP Sponsor Host party on Sunday. The VIP Pass includes free gifts from many of the sponsors, an event T-shirt and your name listed on the LOVE 2002 event poster. Individual event tickets are also available. VIP Passes are $135/person. Individual event tickets are $35 in advance for the main Saturday dance event plus additional admission charges for each added event. Beneficiaries for LOVE 2002 are the Sussex County AIDS Committee (SCAC), CAMP Rehoboth, Rehoboth Beach Main Street, and the Women's Project of CAMP Rehoboth. For additional information and to purchase tickets and VIP PASSES online, go to www.LOVE2002.org or contact event Co-Chairs Bill Alldredge at BA20005@aol.com or Mark Aguirre at MarkAguirre@aol.com.
