Celebrate Cottage Style Architecture
The call for nominations has begun for the 2009 Rehoboth Beach Cottage and Town Awards. Presented by Rehoboth Beach Main Street and Echelon Homes, the program is a celebration of preservation and renovation in downtown Rehoboth Beach. If you live in the city limits of Rehoboth Beach and you have done work on the exterior of your home in the past three years (since July 2006) preservation, renovation, new construction or landscaping, enter the contest to help celebrate your work! The program recognizes residential and commercial property owners who contribute to the charm, beauty and ambiance of Rehoboth Beach through preservation, restoration/renovation, new construction and landscaping. The aim is to celebrate those who make significant contributions to our community. There are five award categories: Residential Restoration/Renovation; Residential New Construction; Commercial Restoration/Renovation; Commercial New Construction, and Landscape renovation/new plantings. The nominator may, but need not, own the property nominated. Please feel free to nominate any property where you have observed efforts which you believe deserve recognition. (Property owners are not required to provide access to the interior of the properties). Nominations may be made by completing a nomination form accompanied by supporting color photographs (no more than five photos, please), submitted no later than Sept. 10. Applications may be downloaded from downtownrehoboth.com. Winners, which will be announced in October, will receive a commemorative plaque and other recognition. To be eligible for the nomination, a property must be located in the city limits of Rehoboth Beach. For further information, call 302-227-2772.
