LETTERS From CAMP Rehoboth |
LottoHOPE |

By now, most readers of Letters likely know that the LottoHEART Game Show on Friday July 3rd was an unqualified success. With the help of over 40 volunteers, and the showomanship of Christopher Peterson, most folks reported getting the art they wanted served up in non-stop entertainment. Who could ask for anything more?
The report: the crowd at the event was perfect, about 30% had Art Tickets and the balance came under General Admission. We sold about 25 tickets shy of sell out for the exhibited art plus some folks with Art Tickets didn't show, so at the end of the night we had about 40 pieces of art left. And it wasn't what you'd expectthat's all I'm saying. If you stop by CAMP Rehoboth, Kathy can give you a list of the LottoHEART art still available, and you can look it over online. Chris Riss and Barb Fishel did a great tag-team job with our live auction, and we were able to integrate the Heart of the Community project into the night seamlessly. Thanks to all of those artists and our generous buyers for doing their part! When we first conceived of the project, we wanted to have a way for the art to be both tied to the evening of entertainmentand not. That is why we had the Blind Date artan equivalent work by each of the artists as a random "blind" art selection. It is in this area alone that I feel we fell short, and maybe that is just my own misguided expectations. It is hard to buy art randomlyand in the future, we'd present an online gallery of that art and let buyers choose by number, first-come, first-serve. (Did I just say "in the future?") I'd hoped that we would pre-sell all of the tickets, and didn't really plan any contingency for leftover art. But here's the deal: we have remaining art and we want to sell it. There are still a few gems, and they can be yours. From the LottoHEART link off camprehoboth.com, you can now link to both the online gallery from the exhibition that reveals the artists' names (shows all of the exhibited art), and the Blind Date Gallery, which now shows the images but not who created the art (shows only remaining art). Buying art is simple, stop by CAMP RehobothOR you may buy a Blind Date ticket off the Love Order page and send an email to heart@ camprehoboth.com with the number(s) of your selection(s), and we will hold or get the work to you. We have over 100 pieces leftthat's a lot of great art. The photos don't do them justice. They make great gifts; they fit intimate spaces; they allow you to expand your collection; they give you another way to support CAMP Rehoboth and get something great in return. All art is $100and we've got a LottoHOPE that you can find some you'll love. |
