Saturday, May 9 at 8 p.m.: First State Ballet Theatre presents Masterworks!Ballet highlights and the premiere of "Everlasting Arms," by choreographer Viktor Plotnikov in celebration of Delaware sculptor Charles Parks. Saturday, May 16 at 8 p.m.: Dena Blizzard: One Funny MotherAn uproarious look at the life of the American woman through stand-up, music and video. One Funny Mother: I'm Not Crazy exposes the craziness that women and mothers feel every day! The Rehoboth Avenue gallery presents Recurrent Dreams: The Paintings of Edward Grant (1907-1998). The Tubbs Gallery, at the Art League, features Works On Paper by Lori Crawford (2008 Fellowship Grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts and currently works as Associate Professor of Art at Delaware State University)bag-itan ongoing project of Crawford'sis a collection of brown paper bags with photographic images of women which expose color prejudices and other bias acts. Also featured is Crawford's Sista Seriesa tribute to women of color. The Ventures Gallery, at the Art League, features the Eastern Shore-inspired mosaics of Anne Schroeder. A variety of materials such as tile, stained glass, and costume jewelry are incorporated into each piece.
